Pop Century room selection

I have not paid extra for a preferred room for my first visit to POP.....however I am wondering how accommodating they are with room requests??...that being said, in your opinion what is the best building to request

If any resort can accommodate a guest's requests, it will. If it can't, it won't. The fewer and more general one's requests, the more likely it/they can be met.'

That said, without knowing what's important to you, my or anyone's opinion of the best room may not be the best room for you.

We stay at POP most trips and find them very good about room requests . We like the 60's building room 5757 I believe was our best, not pool side so a little quieter and close to century hall. But the 50's seem close as well. Hope you have a great trip and enjoy!

Request the 70's section! It's a short walk to the main building/buses/hippy-dippy pool. However, there is no pool in this section which makes it much quieter. We stayed it building 6 in February in a standard view. It was great because our room faced the lake so we had a lovely room. Many of the standard rooms in building 6 have a lake view.

Do a Google image search of "room types pop century" and you'll get a map from a thread on here that shows were all the room types are. That could help you make a decision if it doesn't sound like the 70's section is for you.

As far as your requests being honored, as a PP said, they'll honor whatever they can. We put in our request when we did online checkin and they were all honored (connecting rooms, 70's building). But it all depends on the availability at the time.

So then your only request would be "close to Classic Hall".

I like either 50's or 70's section. My favorite location is 50's first floor lakeside. You could always request as close to classic hall as possible.

We also had just a standard room in 2011. We had requested 60's and got it. It was wonderful, we were lakeside so it was quite, really close walk to classic hall. We were really happy with it. We've requested it again this time too So here's to hoping we both get what we want!

No room at Pop Century is more than 500 feet from the center of Classic Hall - so no room is a far walk.

This is true but there's nothing wrong with wanting to be as close as possible! I've stayed in the 90's and 70's and it's definitely great to be closer when you're exhausted at the end of the night!

I've been to Pop twice...staying a third time for a couple of days in September. The first time all I requested was lake side and we got on a room on the first floor in the 60s lake side. LOVED it. Second time (this past April) I checked in online 59 days out and requested first floor lakeside and ended up in the 60s again. It is a VERY short walk and I use a walker so that was important to me.

I've stayed at Pop many times, usually in a standard room. Once I booked a preferred room and didn't care for it. My favorite spot at Pop? 60's bldg, number 4, facing the lake. We were on the top floor and it was wonderful. It was about a 4 min walk to the food court.
I suppose there are closer standard rooms, but we loved that building.

Understood - but interestingly, the furthest Preferred rooms in the 60s are about the same distance from the front bus stop as the furthest rooms in the 90s are from that same stop. Yes, that's walking through the parking lot for the latter, but over the pool and through walls for the former .

Point is, the resort is pretty compact. If proximity is important, paying for the ensured upgrade or planning so as not to return exhausted are likely good steps on the guest's part.

My mother and I stayed in POP during our last visit and they were very accomodating with our room request even with not being in a preferred room. I asked to be near transportation so my mother didn't have to walk as far to the buses in the mornings (she sometimes needs to use a walker for her bad knee). They put is in the 90s building and we liked it very much. We had pool views and were close to the elevator so it made getting from our fourth floor room to the lobby very easy and convenient. It was a very short walk to the bus stop for us as well.
