HI all.

im just so excited, we just booked the POP Century resort for our first time at WDW in May 2011!!:banana:
And to top it off we got it at the discount rate by using the discount code.

I hope the Resort is as good as the reviews say.

Now im just wondering if 10days in WDW is enough??? :confused3 I have been told 10days minimum...well if not it gives me an excuse to go back.:cheer2:

thanks for reading.

Jen :thumbsup2

Congrats! :cheer2:

We just returned almost a month ago from our first ever WDW trip and also stayed at POP. We were there 11 nights and it was perfect. We ended up going to the parks every day, but they weren't commando style days. It was a nice relaxed place.

I was a bit worried about the size of the rooms from some of the stuff I read on here, but honestly, it was perfectly fine. Super clean, mousekeeping was great and left towel animals for the kids each day. Our kids loved the resort. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Check out the budget boards and if you're lucky you can get in on a fridge swap so you have a use of a fridge (and sometimes coffee pot and toaster too) while you are there.

Have fun planning.

You will have a fantastic trip!! We've never stayed anywhere other than Pop. And I've never stayed 10 days but we always have lots of fun!! Congrats on booking your trip and getting the discount. Woohoo!!!

I'm a DVC member and whenever I stay without using my points I stay at Pop Century. I love the resort and the kids get a kick at all the throwback stuff. I find it all very clean and Mousekeeping obviously does a great job. We're going in September for 2 nights before a Disney Cruise. I got the discount as well! I'm soo excited. I do get a preferred location room only because the walk from some of the rooms can be pretty rough. However, that's the same in the deluxe hotels. I just came back last month and stayed in a 2 bedroom villa at Kindani Village and I think the walk to the room was a good 15 minutes if not more. I actually like the value hotels over the moderates because they have the one bus stop. I can't count the times the buses have passed us because they were already full by the time they got to our stop. Have a great time. By the way, I think 10 days is great. That's what I did this last trip. We also went to the parks everyday, but there were times we slept in and moments were we were able to sit down in the parks and just relax without having to run to the next ride.

You don't mention how many of you there are, but if I had to spend 10 days in the Pop Century with our downsized family of 4, I'd probably go nuts. The theming is terrific, but these are TINY little rooms. We stayed there a few years ago for three nights under the free dining before moving to a timeshare condo. I'm not sure I'd ever do it again.

We all enjoy having a bit of space to spread out and a full kitchen to enjoy eating in when that's our choice. More than one bathroom is pretty essential as well.

Are you getting annual passes? We've stayed two weeks before with those and it's a much more leasurely way to visit. You don't feel obligated to stay in the parks from open to close. If you go for a couple of hours and then decide to leave, it's no big deal.

These are my thoughts exactly! :thumbsup2 Pop for 10 days would be great for a party of 2, but absolutely miserable for more people than that in my opinion.

We stay at POP for the last 2 years (7 nights each time) and we're 3 adult women. We've stayed deluxe many times in the past. The rooms are smaller than a mod or deluxe but we didn't find them to be tiny either. I wish there were 2 sinks in the bathroom but other than that, I think they are totally fine for more than two adults or two adults with kids. We don't spend much time in the room anyways...there is too much fun stuff to do! :goodvibes

Did you make room requests? If you do, I'd suggest requesting 60's or 70's. We had a non-preferred room last year, requested 60's/70's and got a great location in the 70's (~3-4 minute walk). We also always request 4th floor b/c I've read on the boards that you can hear toilets flushing above you from other rooms.

Have a wonderful time! We will be there in May as well at the AKV!

There will be myself & two children a 4yr old princess princess: & 7yr old prince.

Thatnks for all the info, i feel a bit more relieved about the resort. :goodvibes

We are coming from Australia so we are just going to purchase 10 day hopper passes each.

Is there anywhere i can purchase discount tickets for WDW? I have been quoted about $334 per ticket, is this the norm? :confused3

thanks in advance :thumbsup2

Pop is a lot of fun. You will have a great time.

Yes, the rooms are small, compared to a deluxe resort, but with 1 or 2 adults and 2 younger kids, it's not bad at all. When we were a family of 6, we stayed in one room at Port Orleans Riverside and those rooms aren't much bigger than the ones at Pop. It was a little tight, but nothing that bothered us and we had a great time. Before anyone asks, no, we didn't break any rules. Our youngest was 1 and we had a room with a roll out trundle bed, which allows 5 people plus a child under 2.

We've also stayed at Pop, in 2 rooms with 7 people and had a great time.

I'm one who thinks there's no such thing as "enough" time in WDW. But seriously, 10 days will be great, as long as you are only doing Disney and not trying to squeeze in Universal, Sea World, etc.

With that much time and with that age of kids, my suggestion would be to plan:
3 days at Magic Kingdom
2 days at Epcot
1 day at Hollywood Studios
1 day at Animal Kingdom

Something like that would give you a few "rest" days in between, which I think are really important to keep from getting too tired and burnt out.
