Pop Century Refurbishments - March 2025 - February 2026 - Information and Discussions

Thank you @scrappinginontario for starting this thread. I will be following along all the way to my late October trip. Maybe I will get lucky and get a refurbed room. 🤞 I really do like the new room and since I am either with my husband or solo I will get to enjoy the laminate rug inlay fully. And I also love the curtain. When I wake up each morning the curtain and rug inlay will remind me that I am at Pop Century at Disney. Can't wait. I will be down there soon for my spring trip but am staying at ASMUSIC preferred room because I couldn't get Pop on my BB offer but I will be stopping by for sure to check out the completed food court and ride the skyliner. Looking forward to more updates on the refurbishment from all who are staying there before me. Thanks

Maybe the floor inlay is to hide the dust under the bed because it's hard to fully clean under them? We stayed there not long after the last refurb and I noticed pretty quickly how dirty/dusty under the beds were with the plain flooring.

My two college aged children and myself plan on staying at Pop in January, 2026. We stayed this last January, 2025 at ASmovies and loved it but want to try POP because we have never been on the skyliner! What will the availability be with the refub then?

Sorry, not too sure what your question is. Availability of rooms in general or, availability of booking a refurbished room?

Pop inventory tends to fill early much of the year so as soon as you are aware of your dates I would recommend booking. As the refurbishment is supposed to finish in Feb 2026, most/all of the open rooms should be refurbished by then.

Please not the Skyliner will be down from Jan 25 - Jan 31, 2026 for refurbishment.

Maybe all the complaints about the rooms being so boring and generic has paid off. LOL Just glad they are adding more Disney touches to the rooms. My family likes everything about it, but like others have mentioned, thought they could have brought the "fake" rug out about 12" past the foot of the bed. We also like the curtain.

I had to add this in as my DD did a play on words joke, when she said that they added a "POP" of color to the room:rotfl2:

Finished a 6 night stay this morning. My group had several rooms in building 2. The back wing of building 2 was closed off and those rooms were definitely being worked on (heard the noise during the day). Pool view rooms in building 1 were also bring worked on- as we left this morning, large boxes (labeling made me think linens) were being placed in front of each door of the building 1 1st floor pool view rooms. Seemed to me a sign that they are almost done.

ETA it was mousekeeping that was placing/documenting the boxes...not construction folks.
ETA more I think about it, boxes could have been new mattresses of the rolled up memory foam variety.

Yeah, I definitely don't understand the dimensions of the "rug". I guess if you don't have that bed pulled down, it looks ok; but if you keep the bed open all the time (which we typically do -- and ask housekeeping not to close it), you can barely see it.

Our DD's like putting their bed back up, because they like sitting at the table, so we will be able to see half of it:)

The room looks nice. The biggest impact I think is the blue paint. It really does take away from the stark (builder white as we call it) walls. It is soothing and I suppose the blues in the "rug" pull it together some. I still wish "rug" was a bit closer to dresser ~ as I've already bonked my shins on that bed.

The chair fabric plays off the carpet and as we both sit here on our computers with their soft backs, very comfortable to sit in.

LOVE LOVE the new thermostats. Not only reachable but I don't have to override them to get this room cool!!!!

The curtain ... I don't like the color orange so I really didn't need more, so much more, of that. No matter how I adjust it I can't see Mickey. They are a bit too wide for the window so deep pleats. I would have rather the entire curtain be the blue stripe section. That would have pulled all the blues together. Sadly it's just printed like a cheap shower curtain, not impressed with it.

My only issue which should be temporary is the horrible smell. Chemical. I'd say either adhesive for floor or the kind of paint. I'm wondering if they used oil based paint, would hold up better. Got the a/c on and will try to prop door open for awhile tomorrow evening if the rain isn't too bad.

I know there was a question about mattresses. As we went for ice cream tonight I saw that ONE window had the frosted cover missing. The mattress was covered and it looked like a "new" cover not a for paint cover. Then I moved and saw it had a label on it for POP Century and size/type room. SO it seems there might be new mattresses. I know mine is very firm and comfortable and feels new. I pulled sheets because I know sometimes they are dated but mine isn't unless it's on the wall side.

Thanks for the reports on the updates. They look great!

Would love to know which areas of Bldg 1 are complete, for room requesting purposes. (i.e. floors, wings, room # ranges) We are considering a resort only bounceback stay late June, while our kids are away at camp! 😎

I believe building 1 may be complete or very close to completion by now. We haven’t received any updates lately.
