What are you're opions on these 2 hotels? We will be staying 3 nights and want a nice place to stay. Thanks

I have never stayed at either, but I always stay on site. I would pick Pop Century without knowing anything about Wyndham. You can't beat staying onsite. The transportation is great...we never rent a car. We get picked up at the airport and use Disney transportation all week and have never had trouble. Pop Century has a great theme and nice pools. You'll never have to get in a car and "leave" Disney World...the magic never ends!

I have never stayed at either but on a trip in 2002 when we stayed at the VWL my brother and his family and my sister and her family did. They said they would never stay there again. Don't know if this helps but i just thought I'd let you know.

In 2002 we stayed at Wyndham. It was very nice. I also got a great rate by calling the hotel directly. My kids loved it. You can also join Wyndham by Request online for a few extra perks (its free) They had dedicated transportation, a great breakfast buffet, they have character breakfast on Sunday. The resort is literally right across the street from DTD.

For my upcoming trip - in 26 days YAHOO - I had reservations for myself and DD at the Wyndham for $98.00 per night!! However, since that time DH has been able to free his schedule and is going with us and I have changed to an on-site resort. In considering on-site resorts I could not consider a Disney value resort because they lacked the resort amenities that Wyndham has and they cost more.

The other important factor for me was our trip itinerary. This trip we are only doing Disney and are flying and don't plan on renting a car. During my other trips we we would do both Disney and Universal and had a car.

Check out some travel websites. The Wyndham has some pretty bad reviews.

Friends don't let friends stay off-site.

Between the 2, I would stay at POP. There can't be a big difference in cost and staying onsite will be worth it. You can use Disney transportation and not move the car. If you don't like Disney trans, it's still nice to have the option.

Wyndham is a DTD hotel. Although the transporation isn't as good as onsite it does offer continuous bus service, every 20-30 minutes.

It's really not fair to compare POP with the Wyndham. Wyndham is a deluxe hotel. It has interior corridors and deluxe amentities including restaurants and a spa. The rooms are larger.

It really depends. If you're only using your hotel for a place to sleep POP may be a better choice but if you're actually comparing the hotels it's really a no-brainer.

I agree. I'm not sure I always agree that on-site is better if you can get a much nicer hotel or even suite at the same price. However, DH and I don't usually use EE and I don't care for the Value resorts,so that would also factor into my decision. I would miss the package delivery service.

We LOVE POP. We booked an off site at first but switched back to POP, we just can't stay away. The kids loved it, they have great pools, and the water jets and kiddie pools are a hit with us. We love the food court, and found the rooms adequate. Fast running transportation. We don't have a car when we stay either so on site is a must for us. WE can't wait to return to POP this June.

The Wyndham Palace? I ask because there is a Wyndham on I-Drive I believe that gets bad reviews but usually (from what I've read) the Palace (across from DTD) gets good ones. We have stayed there so to the O.P. if you have any specific questions ask away (or pm me). As far as rooms and amenities go the rooms are really large, much larger than a value resort. We had a big changing area and bathroom. We requested a view on the side that faces the parks and could see the MK fireworks to one side at night and the top of the Illumination fireworks from Epcot in the other direction. It has a nice pool area etc. But, as nice as it was it still wasn't onsite. It shouldn't have mattered since we had a car and it was a short drive to the parks but there (for our family) just seemed like something was missing by not staying onsite. It's just the Disney kid in me I guess. :earboy2:
