Pop Century Legendary Years

About a month ago, I read on the wdwnews site that the property was being leased to an outside company (it named it but can't remember the name.) The article added that we could expect a family-luxury experience (whatever that means) but I went back to the site to find the article to post it here and its gone :confused3

Ahh! Wait! I remember, it was in the investor relations newsletter!! Crap, last month's copy isn't up! Am I simply losing my mind???

Wow! That is soooo sad. What a shame, to have built that much, and then have all activity toward completion stopped. Not to oversimiplify - but it seems to me it should just be finished! :confused3

I have just found out about this when I saw the youtube link posted of what it looks like at the Legendary Years side. That is just so sad and I totally would have loved that idea of the 00's-40's!! Please finish this, Disney!! Anyone have any updates??

Are you referring to the Four Seasons project? They are building luxury timeshares on the location originally planed for DVC Eagle Pines resort, not near Pop Century.

No, this article referred specifically to the incomplete legendary years. Since posting my comment, I have had several discussions with a couple of other people who remember the article as well. The best we can figure is that it's possible disney is going to outsource it's operations once it's up and running... that part is purely speculative on our part though.

a CM tht works in hotel management told me that those buildings tht are there will have to be knocked down because their not up to code
muahahaha i made the thread rise from the dead (ooo tht sorta rimes)

Aren't the Four Seasons residences going to be "fractional" ownership, not timeshares?

The difference being with a fractional ownership, a very small group of unrelated people own the home outright. Sort of like an extended family owning a beach home.

What does this have to do with Pop Century Resort! :rolleyes1

KYMickey, I was replying to Chuck S' post from June 2008. My bad!

Now if I can just find someone who wants me to house sit their Four Seasons fractional ownership home for a week or two!

When making an ADR a few weeks ago I had a CM ask me where I was staying I said Pop and she asked Classic or Legendary. I said Classic since Legendary isn't ready for guests yet.

I would have said Legendary, and see what they said...

Just goes to show all that the guests are smarter than the CM's in some cases!

We are way up in Ohio.... any new info on the Legendary Years? I would love to wander the property!!!

It's still there. It's still dead, and even with what construction is going on, no mention on any contracts regarding POP.

We were there in May and they were just standing dormant. We actually walked to the back of POP and accross the way you could still see them. It was really surprising how bad they were. Entire metal railings hanging at odd angles and pieces of building gone. Sad.

We stayed at Pop the end of Sept. thru the first of October and nothing is going on. No construction on the new property at all.
