I haven't had the chance to get on the boards over the weekend, but am deeply saddened to hear about baby Levi. I posted a message on the other board for Alicia.

Lord,

I ask that you watch over the Winkler family as they endure the loss of their son Levi. May you give them all the comfort and strength they need during this time of loss. Although we may not understand why this tragedy happened, Lord we thank you for allowing this family to watch over one of your angels during the short time he was here on earth. May Alicia and Matt make a speedy recovery for their injuries. I ask that you place your healing power in the hands of the doctors that are around them. Lord, I ask that you give strength and comfort to Isabelle as this is a tough time for her as well. In Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.

It was heart breaking to hear the very end of his lecture.

I was in tears when that man gave his lecture.. especially when they showed the picture of his kids

Farrah, it was about a man who had terminal cancer... very young, very handsome and very fit, it was hard to believe that he only had months to live He made a reference to the fact that you have to live your life like a "Tiger" not an Eeyore"

Keli I rewatched Oprah (some of it is on her website oprah.com)

He showed a picture of eeyore and a picture of Tigger, and only talked about choices that we make - he didnt really say what I "heard" I heard to be like Tigger - joyful (and I agree he is annoying, and a pest in the books/cartoon) and not be "depressed" like Eeyore -

but he never said as much, he just showed the pictures and let you decide...

He also made tenure at his college, and to celebrate he took his team to DISNEYWORLD - for a WEEK!! Can you imagine? He said many people thought he was crazy spending that much money on the others, but he was so into the spirit - his whole powerpoint presentation the spirit the integrity... he said it would've been far more expensive if he hadnt made tenure.

This was billed as his "Last Lecture" when a professor retires, the college holds a "Last Lecture" so he put one together, mostly for the sake of his 3 young children (that is what is so sad) and showed it to one class - he is humbled by how much attention he is getting now... and again, talked about living your best life, and when you put joy out there, the joy that returns to you is great! (my words)

I think our ressie is for 9/22 - 10/5. I won't be joining Shirley until 9/25 though.

For next year, I vote we go together and form a Grand Gathering. We would only have to be there one day in common. And then, we could qualify for special events like the Safari Celebration or the International Illuminations Dinner

we didnt bounce back... I just didnt think the new dining plan is all that great, and I think they did offer some great incentives last year (40% a room only code)

who knows? I'd like to go later into Oct and try a different Party for the senses...

We did not sign up for the bounceback either. The heat and rain was just too much for us. Saving money at the expense of having a good time (the POP Parties were the high point) is just not worth it. I am thinking maybe a return in the Spring when it is still cool enough for me to breathe. I can easily eat a lot less, spend a lot less and be a whole lot happier!

I didn't book the bounce back either but will probably tag along with BONZI & JanJan (Glow Party 2006ers) next September. As for the days, have no clue at the moment but we most likely will go end of Sept, first of Oct so we can get our GLOW on at the F&W too Or.. first of Sept so we can use our AP's To soon to tell

No Really, Dane just gave me the go ahead for next Sept, I think we are gonna have to go the first week tho due to Heaths ISTEP test at school, he cant miss that and it starts on SEPT 15th! Im just excited that Dane said "LETS DO IT"!! WOOOOT!

I will be at Pop 8/30-9/8 due to my son's schooling as well. It is just much easier to go when the kids are just setting in to school and don't have much homework coming home than when we did in September which was just as they were really getting into the swing of things and getting lots of homework and big projects. I am in for a meet the beginning of September. Farah, or anyone else if you need help organizing a beginning of September party let me know.

It is starting to look as if I will HAVE to go in September too just to keep you kids in line. Someone has to watch out for you. Trouble lurks AND I know just where to find it!
