I too am waiting for your first day report Tyler!! We are booked for a long weekend in January and can't wait! It will be a surprise tripfor the kids. We have friends that are staying at the Contemporary in Dec. We are coming to visit them on Dec. 14. We will have to make a unscheduled trip to POP to walk around and see everything!

This is my first time to post, I have been reading about PC for the past couple of weeks and I will be staying there Dec. 14-20 and I too will be looking for Tyler to thank him for all of the good information.

Just a few updates...

Pop Century hasn't even opened, and it's already a smash hit. We will open with about 400 or so rooms, and each day add 400 or so more rooms into the mix. Starting December 21st, we will be at 100% capacity throughout the entire Holiday season. In January, we're anticipating occupancy to drop to 75-80%.

I visited the bus stops today (had to get my fix... lol) They've installed QUEUE LINES into the bus stops. This should help keep things in control. There is a special area that will be marked for guests with wheelchairs. Still needs a bit of tweaking, but I think it should work well.

Went into a standard room today. Noticed an iron, and ironing board was in the room.

A few Christmas decorations are up, and Classic Hall looks wonderful with them. You can tell we're in full swing to get everything all opened up. Food smelled really great, coming from Everything POP.

I got to take a tour of the entire grounds area. The place looks fabulous. My tour last time was a bit short and rushed, but this time, we were on a scavenger hunt, so I got to examine things in more detail. Lots of cool things all over the property!

My favorite area so far is the 80s/90s. Maybe it's because that's when I was in my hay-day, but I love the lil Pac-Man's on the buildings and such. And for those of you worried that it'll be a hike to Classic Hall, FEAR NOT. Even I was shocked at how close they really are to the main areas. Those aerial shots are really misleading.

Anyhoo... more updates to come later. Don't want to give everything away at once!

Boy, Tyler's right - Pop Century is already a smash hit! We were originally booked there starting on the 17th, but were able to rearange our trip to leave earlier. Turns out, it took me almost an entire day and a lot of phone calls to FINALLY be able to add on the 14th-16th at Pop Century. The CM's (and Disney's online reservation system) were all saying no standard rooms left!

We are really looking forward to opening day now, and Tyler's reports have just added to the excitement!

Just booked a room at Pop Century for 3 nights over the MLK weekend in mid-January! I'm super excited. Got to use that handy e-mail promotion code for $49/night. Whoo-hoo! I don't think I would have booked the trip without it. That, and a combination of a good airfare on Song from the West Coast made it a no-brainer. Mmmmmmm, a nice shiny, new resort to break in. It's gonna be lots of fun. Gotta do some more research too. I read somewhere earlier today that there is a cheerleading competition that weekend. No offense to any cheerleaders, but I hope they're over at the All-Stars.

Armadillo - you may find yourself surrounded by cheers and bubbly personalities as Pop Century is closest to Disney's Wide World of Sports (did I get that name right?). I expect due to convenience that the cheerleaders will stay here, but I am not one and not traveling with one so I may be wrong.

Groups will be sent to the All-Stars. Pop Century MIGHT get some of the overflow, but that's about it.

I'll be going with my sister and we tend to get a little crazy when we're together. If we show up at Pop Century and I walk up to you like I know you she will go nuts!!!! We would also be prime candidates for this dancing thing.

I'm "Front Office" which means I can be deployed to Front Desk, Guest Services, Back Office, or Luggage Assistance. Just ask anyone for me, I'm sure they'll be able to find me.

I can't ait til I can dance with my kids!--We have a video that shows all of the popular dances froma few years ago(macarena time frame) and the Hustle is on it. The girls broke it out a few weeks ago and were having a ball but skipped over theHustle I guess we will be practicing before we go over MKL weekend!!

We haven't done the Macarena... YET. Although, who knows! Im just hoping I don't have to break-dance. LOL
