Pop Century is Far Out!

Tyler,

I had read somewhere that the 60's building would include something to do with Baloo from Jungle Book. Did you notice anything with Baloo?

Yes, the 60's buildings feature Baloo and Mowgli. (The other 60's building will feature Play-Doh, and both will have Duncan Yo-Yo stairwells)

Thanks Tyler.

I will be changing my reservation for ASMo to Pop Century for March.

Chip 'n Dale Express, WOW! Gosh, how I wish I would be at WDW during Pop Century's Opening Week because you could bet your bottom dollar that I would be staying there. Why, oh why, isn't Disney opening that resort earlier, say, like Oct/Nov when I will be at WDW? ;)

Since I am currently living in the world as a disabled person, I have begun to look at things differently. Are there elevators in all of the Pop Century buildings? (I hope so.)

By the way, since it seems like this is the Dis' new Pop Century FAQ thread, ;) I thought I would post a few links to aerial photos of the resort that were taken in December of 2002 by Disney Pix:

Thanks Tyler. I can't wait to stay at PC. I want to go back in time. :) Sounds like a fun place.

I think the layout of PC is much more thought out than the AS resorts. Those pictures look like it won't take long at all to get to the main building!! I hope everyone enjoys there stay here. I can't wait to see some pics and reviews.:)

I can't really comment on the elevators, I didn't get to explore the buildings as much as I would have liked. However, I'm sure there are Elevators in the center of each building. The ground floor room that we looked at happened to be a wheelchair accessible room. I'm really no expert on accessibility, but from what my tour guide was saying, it looks as if they might have made some improvements for in-room accessibility. I'd imagine that Disney being Disney, they made sure the grounds were accessible as well.

Thanks for the review, Tyler! I'm thinking of adding a night onto my honeymoon, and now I think I'd rather stay here than the All Stars for that extra night. :earsgirl:

Thanks for the review. I have changed my rack rate room from ASMu to Pop, arriving Dec 27th. I am even old enough to admit that I did own a 57 Ford with leather interior...but not a Chevy.

Chip 'n Dale Express, thank you for the information.

Wow Tyler, that was some detailed review! Thanks for psoting all of that. Now you've got me wondering if I can sneak in a trip in December just so I can check it out when it opens!

As one of the opening day guests, I thank you for the update on the resort. It just makes the next 15 weeks a little harder though. I really can't wait to get there! Mickey

Shucks... We are leaving on 12/06, so I guess we won't get to look around before we leave. Oh, well... this gives me something new to see the next time we visit the House of Mouse.

We're staying there this Christmas and I'm curious about the bus service. I wonder if they'll have their own or have to share, and , if so, with which resort?

For those of you who have reservations for Pop Century -- It is one swingin' resort, and you will have a groovy time!>>>>

Wonderful to hear! We are going to be there in late Dec and I have been very curious to hear what the resort was like. thanks for the eye-witness report!

Thanks Tyler for the great and very detailed report. We'll be there in June and I can't wait for the first guests to report back.

Thanks again!
Carla
