We are finalizing our travel plans this weekend for a trip to WDW this December.

Our travel agent said that the Pop Century Hotel was fairly new and was nice. All the information I read has been positive as well. Plus, I like the fact that there are heated pools available.

So...tell me....what is everyone's thoughts on this hotel. Yea or nay???

Also, if could, please offer some tips/advice as to which buildings are best to stay in ,etc. There three of us - two adults and a 7 yr old girl.

Thanks again in advance!

:cool1: You'll love the Pop.It's great,we stayed there a year ago January, when it was only open for a month, and loved it.We were in the 70's section, near Hourglass Lake,a beautiful view. From what I can see, wherever you are is great.Just depends if you want to be near the pool, near the main building,or wherever!
You will love it,for sure!
Have a magical time,
Kirsten in Nova Scotia :cheer2: :hourglass

Stayed at Pop about 3 weeks ago, but only one night as was just passing through. For the $, compared to off-site, I think it's a real sweet deal. The outside theming is very 'loud' (color schemes), but the rooms are more subdued in burgundy, navy & beige. Didn't swim, too cold for us in Jan. but others were certainly taking the plunge. I would definitely stay there again if trying to go during busy season or if just trying to save a little moolah for other activities.

My guess is your 7 yo will be in heaven!!

Pop was great! We were there in June and stayed in the 70's building #10, on the corner close to the food court and the bus stop. No complaints about the bus service or noise. Have fun!

We stayed at the PC in December and just loved it!

We stayed in 7126 (end room) close to parking lot. The rooms were clean, fresh and maids were great. My daughter loved the pools, I even got in the water temperature was warm. The front desk couldn't have been more helpful as well as the store. We had everything we purchased shipped back to PC and they called when it arrived.

The down fall was the eating area. Prices were high, $20 for three of us to eat breakfast. We found McDonalds down the road.

I paid about $54 a night Nov 30 - Dec 7th.

We are going on a cruise this December and plan to fly down a couple of days early and plan to stay at PC again.

Plus, staying at a Disney resort you can take the bus to the parks (we didn't want to wait) or drive yourself. By being a Disney resort guest you don't pay for parking at any of the parks, a bonus!!!!!

Have fun. :earsgirl:

Thanks for everyone's input!

The reservations were officially made for the POP this morning! And I even added a fourth day to the park hopper.

Hurry up December! We can't wait!!!!

I stayed at Pop Century last August and loved the resort. No complaints - I wouldn't hesitate reccomending the resort. Go, have fun and enjoy WDW! :cool1:

pop ROCKS!!! it is our favorite...the atmosphere is great...people are fantastic....bus service is wonderful....cant say anything bad about the place.....two thumbs up from me!!!

I think it really depends on WHERE you actually get your room for one thing. We were in the prefered area (50's and 60's, I think) and had a nice trip. My friend ended up in a section that wasn't near the pools and food court and didn't enjoy her stay as much.

Princess Glenda...you are so right. Skip the 80's and 90's sections and you will have more fun. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

That was going to be my next question:

Is there a preferred place to stay within POP? All pros and cons are welcomed.

Thanks!

I stayed in the 70's. We had a great stay, we were close to the parking lot, a short walk to the Bowling Pin pool, it was a little farther to the Hippy Dippy pool and eating area. I stayed in room 7126 on the ground floor which was the end room next to the stairs. For the most part we had a quite room. It was nice to walk out of our room and be only a few steps from our car. Make sure you explore the entire resort! We played Twister and have some cute photos to scrapbook.
