POP Century Helpful Tips Wanted!

The only negative from our stay was the food court. The food was not good and was barely warm by the time you paid for it and sat down. The beverages at the refill station were hit or miss. Sometimes the diet coke was flat sometimes it was fine. The hot chocolate never tasted chocolately. We were there a week. We're still going back. We'll eat elsewhere.

I know one person here said they did not hear the pool, but depending on how lightly you sleep, you may want to request a room that does not look out on the pool. Not because the people are loud, but we found the music to be a bit loud. We could hear it in our room, but we were so tired at the end of each day that it really did not bother us. Still, if you think it might be a problem ask for one away from the pools. We could walk down to the end of our 4th floor walkway in one of the 50's buildings and watch Illuminations every night. It was great fun!

I didn't get the "preferred room" when we were there in Oct. and was sorry I didn't. We were in the last 50's building farthest away from the Main building. That extra walk was so exhaulsting. For our April trip I have reserved the "preferred room".

If you're trying to get to the parks at opening via the buses, especially for the MK, make sure you get to the bus stop early. Pop has only 1 stop for 2880 rooms, so lines do tend to form; they are pretty good about bringing in plenty of buses one right after another.

I give Pop Century 5 stars for the value for your dollar. My first on-property experience was at Port Orleans the year it opened. Before Then we stayed off property. I have stayed at all three of the All-Stars on several different trips over the years. I write this post from a prospective of a family that spends its focus on the parks rather than the accommodations. We do all E-Nights and all early entries. (can’t wait to experience the new system of “Extra Magic Hours”).
Our first stay at Pop Century was July 2004. We currently have reservations for June 2005. The best perk at Pop Century is the bus service and the location of rooms in relation to the short walk to the buses. Currently they have a direct service to and from the parks. No stops in between other than the occasional water park stop (mid day).
The food is good for the price for a quick lunch during an afternoon break or for a snack on your return from the parks. Save your food money for EPCOT. The pools are conveniently located and HUGE. The staff was very courteous, especially at check-in. (shuuu….. she changed our standard room to a preferred room without the additional charge. lol). We arrived several hours before the check-in time expecting to check our luggage and go to MK. However, they had us in our room within 20 minutes.
If you are a park “Junkie”, I highly recommend Pop Century.
