:earsboy: We can't wait for our vacation June 17th, everyone is already excited.

5 teenagers and 4 adults staying at the POP Century.

Please give me any little tidbits or helpful info you have about this resort.

How you liked it?

Bus ride times??

ANY thing....

Thanks in advance

We had a great time at Pop. Me, DH, DD12 and DD9. Here is a slideshow of pictures I took of the resort. Sorry, I'm a scrapbooker so there are 60 pages of the resort alone!

We asked for a room by the food court, 50s building, top floor. We got a perfect location!! We thought the food court was great and had such a variety for a food court. We had a great time walking around the resort looking at all the icons. DH & I had to explain a lot of the items to the kids (like what is an 8-track tape!) but they had a great time laughing at us "old folks".

The bus rides weren't bad from what I remember. We've stayed at POR and CSR and it didn't seem much different to us. But I never timed it.

If you have specific questions, let me know.

Thanks so much, I loved the photos.

The resort looks like so much fun and I'm sure our kids will laugh at us old folks, too.

Did you eat at the Everything Pop?

Yes, we ate at Everything Pop. We had breakfast there every morning. DH would walk over and grab some pastries, waffles, etc. while the rest of us got ready. We had the waffles (you can ask for waffles only, no bacon if you prefer. Saves a little money and my DD doesn't eat it.), dough nuts, pastries, fresh fruit (banana). We ate lunch a couple times. We had the chicken nuggets and chicken strips. The kids meals come with the small nugget type pieces (like the size of McDonalds) and the adult meal comes with chicken strips (like McDonald's Chicken selects). We ate the chicken soup (noodles with kind of an Asian flair). Hamburgers are normal burgers. I think I also had a meatball sub.

But they also have nicer meals like Chicken parmesan.

We tried a few desserts. The tie dye cheesecake was pretty good. The "crust" is actually a thin slice of red cake with the cheesecake on top. It isn't like a graham cracker crust.

We got the refillable mugs and it was very convenient. They had a little mug wash station so you could rinse out your mugs!

They also had a nice selection of grab and go type stuff.

Does the POP have any elevators or is it just stairs?

Nice pictures! Now I'm more excited for my April 7th trip to the POP. Did you request the 50's top floor when you checked in?

I sent a fax in 3 days before arrival at the resort and asked for the 4th floor room in the 50s building. We were one room in from the end stairway of the building that is closest to the food court. It was very convenient. We would just walk out the room, go down the stairs and we were only a very short walk to the food court.

Here are a couple more pictures of Pop Century. Really, they are the only pictures of the Pop Century food that I have.

I love pop it is a great resort. The location is really nice I think it is much closer to the parks that the all stars

We just returned from a 2 night stay. Previously, we've stayed at several others, including a honeymoon at the Wilderness lodge and a 4 night stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We thought that the Pop Century was just great.....

Upon checking in, I asked to be upgraded to a 'preferred' room which they did for 10 bucks extra and I'm still not exactly sure what we got for the extra money:-) We were put in the 60's section, 3rd floor in the back. Not too far from the shop and restaurant.

One thing that wasn't apparent at first, to me, was when we returned there on our first night and I was snooping around the shop area, looking specifically for a snack to take back to the room. I thought that all that stuff behind the registers was a restaurant and didn't realize until later that they had all kinds of great food to eat there or take back to your room...

So had we known THAT from the start, we wouldn't have ordered those 2 pizza's delivered to the rooms. There were 4 adults and 2 kids under 5. WAY too much food:-) Unfortunately, the pizza left a whole lot to be desired....really bad....

Also, depending on the weight of your luggage, you may want to look for a cart. We carried ours, as well as the kids. I thought I was going to die...LOL It's a long walk from our room to the 60's parking lot.

The pools looked great but it was kinda chilly for us...my daughter was severly bummed about that.

So we'll definately return there.....a good deal.

Great, thanks.

I requested the preferred rooms, mainly to put us closer to the bus pick-up and food/shops. We stayed at ASM last year and were way in the back, the walk was killer.

We're taking FIVE teens and I think this'll be just great. I love the cabins at FW, but we had too many for one, and not enough for two. LOL.

Thanx again. :3dglasses

Just a heads up, the extra $10 is to be in the preferred 60's building, not really worth it since you get get rooms just as close for $10 less in the 70's and 50's. Also, at pop you don't need to move your own luggage, when you go to check in, pull up to the check-in luggage area, they will take your luggage for you right there(don't have to tip, but we do). and an within an hour of your room being ready they will bring it to you(you don't have to be there either.).
:wizard:

Well, I'm going to get rid of my preferred room request and save $240!!!

We're booking 4 rooms per night with my mom & dad, and thanks to your helpful hints, I feel fine staying at the 50's or 70's.

Last year at the ASM, we were in the Broadway buildings in the back, and boy was that walk to the food and bus station LONG! :wave2:

Hi there,

We stayed at Pop in Dec. and would gladly stay there again. :flower: We had no problems with bus waits, or anything like that.

The food court is awesome...I loved the tables with games. The pools were all great but the Hippy Dippy pool is the best. I think that's the "main" pool. The kids should love it. Also, the kids will love the arcade (since my SO, who is a 32 year old grown man could barely be dragged out of the arcade  I assume most kids will really love it!)

The shop is great. It had a nice selection of items.

We stayed in the 50's in a room facing the lake. It was a nice view. We did not pay for a preferred room. I would not pay for a preferred room at Pop, even though it's a big place, we walked around it several times and I'd say as long as you are all in good health (enough to handle a 5-7 minute walk depending on where you are) you should be fine in whatever room you wind up in. Every section is close to a pool. The 50's and 60's are closest to the main building. The 80's seemed to be closest to the parking lot. The 90's seemed to be a little further away but it was not a bad walk.

We had no problems with noise at all. Occasionally we'd hear water from the shower next door or hear toilets flushing but only rarely and it was not any worse than any other hotel I've ever stayed at. We did not hear a peep from the pool or people outside of our room. In fact, we were surprised at how quiet it was.

Make sure to walk around the grounds and read the little signs. There are signs everywhere with little pop cultures trivia facts. :)

Here are some pictures from my last trip :

Enjoy!

We stayed at the pop oct 04. We loved this resort.
The late swim after the park was the best. /outside bar is open.
Take a walk around the lake is really pretty.

At the bus station they had those bars set up
that you walk threw/to keep people in line.
I liked that because some people just run in
front of you when the bus pulls up/this keeps people
honest.

Have fun

Someone said there are elevators, are they in every building, from what I remember there were no elevators at the all-star sports or music, am I right? I everyones opinion which is best value resort: Allstar sports, music, movies or Pop Cen.

I believe they are in every building at Pop. Can't say for the others as I've never stayed there.

Personally, I picked Pop because it's newer and I like the theming better than the others. I hear great things about ASMovies though.
