Sorry if this was already answered but the search function kept timing out. We are driving down to Orlando from Alabama and we are staying at the Pop Century the last week in March. My question is will it be better to use the bus system or drive our car to the parks? It will only be DH and I so there won't be any kids or strollers to worry about. I just didn't know if the crowds would be a problem and it would be quicker and easier to take our own car. Thanks!

We always use disney transportation I don't feel like I'm on vacation when I get up and get in my car each morning just like at home. But there seem to be a lot of people that prefer to drive to the parks. Since you have your car you can use whatever works for you.

That's a toss up. Last trip, we traveled to the parks by bus as DH used an ECV full time. Prior to that, we always rented a car. We found that taking the bus to MK was easier. Depending on time of day, we would usually drive to the other parks. Time of day mattered with respect to where we would be in the parking lots. If we were there for park opening, chances were good we would park near the entrance without having to use a tram. Likewise, sometimes late in the day you are allowed to find parking where spaces opened up in the lots near the park. At the MGM/Studios p/lot, it seems that unless you qualify to park in the handicapped section, you will park in a section requiring a tram ride.

Now you might wonder why riding a tram factored into our decision. For two reasons...1) we were dependent on a form of transportation that would involve waiting and 2) we had a double stroller to deal with at the time along with two little ones. Parking in a lot would often work best when we could push the stroller right to the car and transfer sleeping children directly into car seats. If we had to break a stroller down and use it on a tram, we might as well use a bus.

HTH!

I'm for riding the Disney buses. They are usually very efficient. I've seen the way people drive around WDW....and I don't want to be a part of that ratrace. It's going to be bad enough driving from there to Tampa. I don't want to hassle with driving around the parks.
