My family and I are Disney freaks. We try to go every other year. We have been upgraded once to the POFQ , but we usually stay at the all stars, cant afford any more. Is there any hidden way we can stay at a moderate hotel without cutting off our arms?...it is usually about $700 more....we stay 10 nights on average....

Do you have an AP or have you looked into getting one? You only need one for the hotel discount for up to 3 rooms, or you can get AAA discounts. If you know your travel dates and it is between 12/1- 2/15 I would be glad to check BR prices for you, just PM me. If you take multiple vacations a year AAA may be worth it for more than just disney.

Have you tried booking through a travel agency like Small World or Dreams Unlimited? I am amazed at how they save me $$$. Also, they keep an eye out for discount codes so you don't have to. I agree with the previous poster that AAA and AP's also save you money. With an AP you can get the Disney Dining Experience card which saves a bundle on your sit down meals.

Clean out your house and have a yard sale. Great way to make some extra money. Last one we had we made almost $500.

How 'bout doing a split stay? You could stay at a Value for most of the nights, followed by one or two nights at a Moderate/Deluxe. That would keep you pretty much within budget.

Do you belong to AAA? Have you priced what it would be with the AAA discount? It's worth it to join. Here in NY, I pay $40 a year and just the other day I had a flat tire. I'm a 61 year old widow, and I'd much rather have someone come and do it for me than to struggle with it myself. I know how, but tires are heavy.

I would stay at the POP and save the $700 so you can come again sooner.

The POP is not an All Star. We stayed there this fall, and loved it. Our prior 3 trips we stayed at the Contemporary, AKL, and Poly.

I agree! This past January I took my son and GD to WDW and did a split stay at WL and AKL. We were so busy we never got to enjoy the resorts. We seldom saw them except for late at night and early in the morning. In May I did a solo trip and did a split stay for two nights at POP, then rented DVC points for five nights, then went back to POP for two more nights. I fell in love with POP during that time. I just got back this past Saturday (09/24) from another seven nights at POP, with my younger son and D-I-L. The atmosphere there is special and unique. Saying that, I'm taking my mom for her first ever trip to WDW in Dec and we're doing a split stay at POFQ and CSR, but only because we'll be there during the tail end of Pop Warner, so I think my mom would be more comfortable at a moderate.

Another option for you might be to consider renting DVC points. You can stay in a Deluxe resort in a Studio that sleeps four people Sun-Thurs nights for just a little more than a Value (cheaper than a Moderate however). The weekend points are higher though, so it would be more economical to spend those nights at a Value. That is what I did this past May spending Fri-Sat at Pop, then renting DVC points for a BWV Studio for Sun-Thurs, then added two final nights at POP. In a studio you would also have a refridgerator, microwave, and toaster which could save you money on food.
