When you check out, I heard they will hold your bags while you go into the park for the day. Is this true??? Should you tip them for holding it for you? Also, can you get your boarding passes at the hotel even if your not checking any bags? Where can I do this? Thanks for the help!

Yes, they will hold your bags and give you a ticket number to claim them when you come back.

What airline? You don't need to be checking luggage through to your flight in order to use the RAC, but you do need to be flying on a participating airline (see the sticky at the top of this forum titled something like "What Participating Airline Really Means"). If you're not using one of the listed airlines, Guest Relations at any park or Lobby Concierge at any resort can get your boarding passes for you - you just need to be present, and note that exact-24 hour check in may not be available, depending on staffing and the number of people in line.
