Ok people, I just got back last night from pop century and have a little FYI.
I was told on here I would not be able to fit a twin air mattress in the pop centry rooms. That it would be too big to fit in those small rooms. I took it anyway just to try. Guess what... It worked fine. We just moved the little table to the side of one bed and put the mattress down , and there was PLENTY of room for it. Its even actualy a little bigger than average twin at that. (Its a double layer high one) So FEAR NOT first time pop century goers... pack your twin mattresses with ease.. I can now say I have been there, done that... And would love to go back!:thumbsup2

There may be room for it but there are occupancy limits on the rooms that only allow a certain number of people to stay in the rooms. I would think that fire codes would also come into play for that reason.

She didn't say she was over the occupancy limit for the room.

Yes, if I remember right it was a brother/sister who didn't want to share the bed???

Ah I see. I had one of those brothers too but I slept with my mom and brother with dad so as not to be on the floor.

Nope.. we had 4 people. Good memories on my situation guys!:thumbsup2
We didnt block any doors nor were we tripping over anything. It worked out great. Take them ol air mattresses with no cares and nor worry. It can be done quite easily without breaking any rules at that!:flower3:

I came here looking for this exact information! I've stayed at Pop with just DH in a king and 2 dbl room, but will be there this summer with 2 DS's and me and DS's don't share a bed (nor do I share with either DS). We have a twin air-bed that we frequently use in hotels, but I couldn't remember if there was any way it would fit at Pop Century! We've done so at Coronado Springs, but I know that room is bigger than at Pop.

To the OP, did it fit between the bed and the wall nearest the entry door? I think that's what you're describing, but I'm trying to picture where it would fit. I know when we've done this before, we just propped it up on end so that it was out of the way during the day.

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for posting this - we tried it too last time we were at POP and it did fit just fine. :thumbsup2 Glad it worked out for you! :goodvibes

When we do this (use a twin air mattress - my Mom prefers it, she has one that is more comfortable for her than any hotel mattresses since she sleeps on air at home too) we put it on the floor against the wall, where the table normally sits between the tv stand and the window. We move the table over to the other side of the tv stand next to the bathroom vanity area, and set the chairs in random places wherever we want/need them.

We have used an air matress in our room at Pop for the past several trips, not a single air matress - a QUEEN air mattress! And there are four of us, we are tall and do not like sharing a bed, period! To automatically assume that there are more than four people in a room just because they are using an air mattress is way off base.

Yes and I stand corrected and don't need a reminder. Thank you. I still wouldn't do it for safety reasons. Just an opinion.

We did this also...4 adults is a bit cramped but we were traveling for work and didn't want to pay for the second room. My Dh and I shared a bed, Mom had the other one and my brother crashed on an air matress. It wasn't ideal and I wouldn't do it every trip but it worked for us! Did the same as the OP by moving the table.

We haven't done it at Pop, but we do it every year at the BWV. Even though we have the 1 bedroom there is still only 2 beds. My kids are teens now, and won't sleep together, and I sure as heck don't want to share a bed with them either! Even when they were younger, sleeping with them was like sharing a bed with a fish out of water!

I know exactly what you mean. Mine is 9 now and I shared the bed with him at CBR so he wouldn't fall out with those high beds. He spent most of his night kicking me!

SO GLAD for this post - we are doing the exact same thing soon at Pop. We are a family of 4, but the kids are 18 and 19 so sharing beds is not a good option and one of them prefers to use the air mattress.

Can you tell me if the table will fit in front of the window? We plan to put the air matress where the table usually is... We still want to be able to use the table.

Are there any problems with leaving the mattress blown up throughout our stay? Did the people who clean the room move it? Where did you put it during the day?

We are flying - any tips on packing the air mattress? We plan to take sheets for it. Are there extra pillows in the room or do we need to take a pillow too?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

My children have not been able to or wanted to sleep in the same bed with each other for years, not to mention we are all so tall. You will be suprised how well the air mattress will work in the room.

The table does fit in front of the window - but using it will be a little tight.

We propped ours up against the wall during the day. Housekeeping didn't seem to mind - I think they are used to them. A twin sized mattress fits very nicely.

You can ask housekeeping for extra sheets, blankets and pillows when you arrive. Just a thought but maybe instead of packing one to take you could ship it to the resort instead? It might work out cheaper that way - and then you have less luggage to take. :)
Thanks to anyone who can help!

Hope this helps!

Im glad it worked out for you! We are bringing an air mattress next trip. I bought a nice one it is pink with a backpack. Last year it was 5 of us at Contemporary and although we fit nicely we did have some sleeping problems. My DH tossing & turning all night and i want to avoid this next trip. My kids can take turns sleeping on it and my DH can have the whole bed to himself:goodvibes

Yes, good suggestion about shipping it to the resort. Problem is - can I ship it back home from the resort??? I would much rather ship it both ways than pack it in checked luggage...
