Has anyone used their Mugs from all star music or any other resort at Pop? I was hoping to bring our mugs from Music but want to know if anyone else has had sucess. :earsgirl: ::MinnieMo 22 days

Honestly, you'll probably see some non-Pop mugs there.

However, the written policy is that the mugs are good only for the length of your stay and only good at the resort you purchased it in.

Just buy a mug. They're only $12 and you wouldn't have to deal with the embarassment if a CM stops you.

I am going to bring my old mugs from the port orleans fq and I will see if I have the nerve to take them out. I am going to see if I see other people use their old mugs. I would hate to be there and see others using theirs. $50bucks is $50bucks. Plus we are not going to be at the resort much.

"WHEN IN ROME"

OK, not trying to be smart and I know you will think so, but, are all these repeated/identical mug questions on these boards for real?? This has to be a joke right!! ;) ;) :rotfl:

Just having fun!

Especially since the people who post them only have a few posts? It could be coincidental but I have noticed the same thing lately.

Actually we are buying my kids the mugs for the first time (in all our Disney trips). We drive down and bring drinks with us but since they have the icee drinks the kids are excited to get them this time.

Disney is offering a great deal with these Mugs. Do not ruin it. Please buy a new Mug for each stay.

I cannot believe there are families teaching their children that this practice is OK. It is against the rules, it is stealing, and it is just morally wrong. If you’re that hard up to save $12.00, maybe a vacation is not what you should be concentrating on.

Sorry for the harsh post, but I find this practice repulsive.

I agree, Dream1. In my mind, it is no different from walking up with a McDonald's cup and refilling it each day at the food court. Any mug you bought a time other than your current stay is not valid for re-use whether you bought it at Disney or KMart.

Perhaps they don't know how to search for a subject.

I seem to remember that when we bought our first set of mugs way back in '95 at the All Star Sports, we were told that they were good "for life", meaning that we could continue to bring them back every time we returned (but only to All Star Sports, not any other hotel).

We'll be buying new mugs because this year, we're at WL. Five years ago, we were at Dixie Landings and bought them. I'm still coming out way ahead in the drink department buying new mugs every trip.

a friend of mine went down to Pop this past april and i lent him our mugs that we used last year down there. we are going to WL next month and i will be buying new ones. Disney does offer a great deal with these mugs but on the other hand, many other things are very over priced.

I have been to Disney numerous times and have seen plenty of folks bring their old mugs and bring them to a different resort. No I don't police, I just notice them and the CMs do not say anything. Is it the right thing to do, it's up to you. Honestly, I don't think Disney enforce their rules on refill mugs, I don't think CMs cares.

i agree with you. when we went to POP last year i remember seeing other mugs. The "mug issue" is definatly a sensative one though.

I say go ahead and bring your old mug. But why stop there? Go use it while you're pool hopping at Yacht and Beach Club. I say this because that is the place with the that real long crooked slide that's so cool. They'll definitely let you in. It's only cheating if you get caught.

good point! I guess that should be mentioned. But then again, one of the best post on here was the recent joke thread where the guy was going to sandblast the mugs to update them each year.......then we were going to stretch them to make them bigger........then turn the handles around for left handers...etc

I guess the muggings do create fun!

I don't have much to say on this since I am all for buying new mugs so I can get a complete set. :flower: . . .but, when my family visited in May, my parents actually threw theirs away so they didn't have to pack them. To me this was a crime! I guess this won't ever be an issue in our family! :rotfl:

I did not think I would cause such a contriversy regarding the mugs. I don't mind buying new mugs, but in the past we had used them at all star music. When I bought the mugs I was told I could bring them back to the all stars and reuse. I also do not believe this stealing and took offense to this comment. I have been to disney 9 times and am simply looking to save a little money. We stay for 10 days and every penny counts. I will call cm to find out if this ok before bringing mugs. I read the boards every day and havn't seen a mug question in a while. I think a few of you nasty people need to chill! Thanks to all for the responses. Only 21 days to the happiest place on earth! :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc

The mug question has gone on for years and I'm sure will continue for years to come! I myself have bought mugs for each resort I have stayed in. Last August I spent just one night at Pop, but bought myself a mug just to remember the stay. In fact, I took the fireworks cruise out of WL, wasnt even staying there and bought a mug! I do take my tea to go in the mornings out of different mugs in the morning, kinda a Disney lovin thing. But I do invest in mugs for the whole family if we are spending the week there, we are a family who definatly uses them. I also have been amazed at some of the oddball mugs I have seen, like 7-eleven mugs, other resorts, Dixie Landings mugs, ect. QAll I can say is to each his own, I personally wouldnt want someone looking at me funny after they just spent so much. But thats just me.

What I will say about POP is this, they have an awesome food court, they have lots of options for food and drink, in fact its one of my favorite food courts, and since it was just a quick stay for us we bought a 2 liter bottle of coke (sold right there) and used paper cups. Worked fine for us that night but if your spending a week there figure out if the mugs are worth it or just buy small drinks when your there.

A quick PS, do you save your coins for your vacations? Or use coupons or some other money saving thing, maybe you could roll out your coins, cash them in, put them in an evelope seal it and mark it for the mugs (or something similar).
I am doing this to buy my passes, we buy AP's and its a huge chunk of money, so Im trying to take the pinch out of the vacation by setting this money aside strickly for the passes.

Some people do it mousekeeping, or special dinners out, ect. it helps with budgeting I think.

I just called cm and asked about the mug debate. Cm told me it was fine to bring all star music mugs to pop. So thanks for the input. :earsgirl: ::MickeyMo :Pinkbounc
