This is "Glen" (yes, he was named) who was at the CSR about a year or two ago (he was moved sometime in September of 2009 to a remote site as he got too big):

In Central Florida, alligators are like squirrels or deer up north.. they're around. It happens a fair bit.

This little fella...

Was found in a bathroom in the Magic Kingdom by custodial staff. He was in a bathroom in Adventureland. Wow. Going to the bathroom that night would have been a REAL adventure!

For the most part, when they are smaller, they are as afraid of you as you are of them.

OMG!!! I would have a heart attack if I walked into the bathroom and came across that! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

We were at Pop this past February and did see one but we were at The Beach Club last may and saw one swimming around the water. We only saw him at night and took a photo but it was way too dark for it to come out.

My husband saw the alligator at POP on 10/31/09 when we were there. Hew was swimming in the lake behind the 60's section.

I would think they would trap him and send him off site before anyone gets hurt. The turtles are also probably snapping turtles. Maybe they need to fence it off to prevent it from happening in the future?:surfweb:

Please, please tell me you're joking right? You might as well fence off the whole state of Florida. Wait, that might not be a bad idea! Then the tourists couldn't get in and the parks would be less crowded for us natives!

Bwahahahaha! An evil plan is hatched! :rotfl2:

tastes like chicken.

at least it did at daytona coupla years ago.

I think I will keep this little piece of information to myself. DD4 is already terrified of the automatic toilets. If she knows there might be an alligator there too, she will hold it for 8 days!

I've seen some pictures of one under the brdige by the lake. But he was pretty small. I have looked, but not real hard. I rather not see one I guess.

Folks, it is Florida..........there was a million +++ gators all over the state, not to mention all kind of other varmints. Florida also has all kinds of restrictions on removing ad hunting wild life..

If you go to Florida you are going to find the wild life in WDW, UNI, in hotels, homes, basically everywhere.

They are almost always much more afraid of you then you are of them. If you see one just back off and let them alone.

i don't understand why people are so shocked about alligators in FL, there are probably more alligators than people lol
