Pop cans / plastic bottles into the parks?

DW was wondering ...because we can't remember .... whether it is an issue to bring pop cans into the parks? If I remember right, no to pop cans but plastic bottles are ok.

Can someone confirm for me?

Plastic is okay because I've brought water bottles in with no problem. Not sure about cans, though. And definitely no glass.
