Now I sound like a bad mom for pulling my kids out of school for 6 and half days! Oh well, the school is cool with it and they are good students. They will be in 4th and 1st grade. My parents pulled us out of school around Christmas time every year until we graduated.

I'm with you too. I'm pulling DD10 out after 8 days of school for an entire week. I figure they spend the first couple of weeks just doing review from the previous year. She's a very good student and has never had problems making up the work. Also, most at her school seem to have the attitude that family time is just as important as school time. I'm sure the fact that she IS a good student helps.

Disney considers her an adult, but I'm sure she'll be ordering off the kid's menu. Who wants to pay $38 a day for that? (Although I bet she'll get an "adult" dessert.) Yeah FREE dining!!

We are going Sept 14-20. This will be DS(3) first year of school. He will turn 4 in the summer. He will already be in school for 4 weeks by the time we go. So I hope they will be ok with it since he will only be in pre-k. If not then we will definitely bring them something back which we are going to do anyway.

This will be our second time at POP. We will be staying there this weekend for the first time. We had the free dining last year, but did not know about bounceback until we were home a couple of days. What buildings are considered the classic years? We had the chose of rooms so we wanted the standard room for both trips.

I'm glad there is no judgement so far about all of us bad moms taking our kids out of school! Other threads aren't so friendly about that, I figure they're my kids and I can do what I feel is best for them. This is the 3rd year I've taken my oldest son out for a week or more. Last year we went the last year of August so I wouldn't have to take my youngest son out during kindergarten, that was a mistake!

I like your theory! Obviously, it has some basis in fact since I was taken out of school every year until I graduated and I have a bachelor's degree. Not that I'm using it, but I have it.

Considering Pop is the friendliest of all the resorts I think having a meet would be good. I'll let you know in about a month though, I'm meeting some Dis friends in Chicago for a weekend. I may change my mind after that! Although I did meet 2 different Disers last year that I wasn't really friends with and that was fun. So, I think meets are good.

We are going 9/19-9/27 our 1st time at the POP 3rd time with Free Dining!!!

We wanted later in the month to go to the Halloween Party and hopefully the love bugs wont be as bad. Totally lucked out with Free Dining dates, booked before and hoping for Free Dining, but was going regardless.
