POP Before the Christmas Rush-Who's with me!?

Good morning :goodvibes pre-rush poppers:cool1:

princessreilly impressed me with her planning for such a large group.

If they are not greatful you can just take me next time. :rotfl: and Beth and Stefanee as well.

I'm trying to get into some double stroller swaps for my 2 girls, they are 4 and 1. With having to pay for checked luggage now, I'm just trying to save a few dollars. and my back.

For both trips. And I'm trying to find a fridge swap to get into for my August trip and there are hardly any for sports. I found one, but at this time, the dates are being used.

I bet there's a dozen or so swaps for POP. Wow.

I'm sad this morning-DH told me this morning that we are taking the money I am saving for our Disney trip and putting it into redoing the house-so my trip is off. I hope everyone here has a great time though! (Have a little of your fun for me!)

mmkk: :grouphug: Sorry about your trip. Here's hoping you can either change his mind, or just postpone it to a later date.

But fixing up the home is rewarding and fun too.

I love dising in my new kitchen.

I'm really hoping that we can find time to meet; even if that means I ditch the kids with DH and do a night time park meet. :rotfl:

Not to sure if we will do that, we have a 11 yr old with us, so it will be up to him what we do.

Just thought I would stop by and say hello.

Hello Monica! Hello Beth! Hello princessreilly!

mmkk: Been there! Only my choice was between a new kitchen or an old fashion volkswagon convertible bug. I have always wanted one of those but went with the kitchen.

We had a huge rain/lightning storm last night which took out our power.....again. Only this time we were without power for about 6 hours instead of 41.

BUT!!!!!

My basement is flooded! I've been up since 2am extracting water and I'm still not ahead.

The carpet and padding has to go.

Did I mention I run a daycare? In my basement?

Ugggghhhh!

Back to sucking up more water.

Good morning Poppers!!!

Monica I am so sorry to hear about your basement. I can't imagine having that happen. That is one thing about living in NC, I miss my basement. I hope your clean up goes quickly. What are you doing with your day care kiddos?

I can't believe summer vacation is half over here. They got out June 6th, and go back August 25.(much better then how it use to be, the first week of August, but they got out in May) I have nothing to show for the time off, except catching up on reading, and cleaning up Ds's room.

Monica: Sorry to hear about the flooding.

I've never had to deal with it personally but had a friend come home from a weeks vacation to find all the stuff in her basement floating around in about 6 inches of water! We had gotten a lot of rain and her pump had failed.

Beth: You are so right about the summer flying by! My kids got out of school on June 20th and they go back August 27th. We were suppose to get out June 12th but had way to many snow/ice days.

Sorry about the flooding Monica. Yuck! Sounds like your hands are full, with the daycare too.
Speaking of school arriving so soon, what is everyone doing about missing school? I just turned in dds application for k5 yesterday and told them we would be gone that week in December for vacation and they we're sure about missing days. I guess there is a certain number of days they're allowed to miss.:confused3 My Dneice is taking her laptop to do her college courses on the way there.

The carpet and padding and all the water is gone.

My aching back!

The kids just had to be on the first floor, it was a change of scenery, they didn't mind.

I will be gone the week of my college finals, so I'm hoping the professors allow me to take them early.

As far as my kids go, they will miss the 10-19 and the day we get back their christmas vacation starts.

The schools are gonna love me!

Not!

thanks for asking, I just need to decide what to put back down there.

Well, here in the middle school(ok I am so obsessive I looked all this up to be sure) DS can miss 20 days during the year. So if we get a afternoon flight out, he can be in school till 11:30 and have it count as a full day, so he would only miss 2.

Now here is my dilemma...

Our school has a vacation form we can fill out, and the teachers will give him his work to do while he is gone(some vacation huh?) or I can write a note that he was sick  , it will be excused, and the icing on the cake is he would have 5 days to make up his missed work...

Guess which way I am leaning..

That's a no brainer.

Yeah, I feel a little guilty about lying but.....him doing homework on vacation doesn't seem fair to punish him with, since mommy needs her Disney fix.

Now I just have to hope he doesn't come home with a tan or slightly pink...

I could always say, his fever was so high he got a sunburn from it...:lmao:

Ok, wayyyyyyy to much time has gone by since we last posted.

What, you all have lives or something?

We went up north and I'm trying to diet and exercise, everyday, not just when I fell like it.

Thats my excuse.

I just had to say Hello!! My daughter pointed out the fact you were from Michigan, she noticed the Hockeytown on your location. We are hockey nuts as well. :dance3:

Howdy Neighbor!

We love our Red Wings!

We are in Chesterfield.

Funny how we will be in disney about the same time too.

We're from Southgate close to Monroe area. I see we will be there around the sametime in August, we will be staying at the GF we got a great deal on a bounceback. :woohoo:

My family is going Dec 10-19th 2008. We have 2 rooms (there's 7 of us, Me, DH, DS12, DS 10, DD4, and DD1 oh and my MOM.:goodvibes )

Let's make the time fly and get to know eachother and have some fun while we wait.

tick tock tick tock tick tock.....

Also funny to me, we will be there on December 17-24 and we always bring my dad on vacation.:rotfl2:

Many moons ago I used to work for 96.3FM, when they played rap, and I drove the vehicles. I worked in promotions. We used to head over to Southgate a lot.

Our August trip is only the 25-28th. We found a great deal on airfare (136.00total per person) and were able to get free dining. This is the first time for FREE dining.

We just had to curb the edge until December.:rotfl:
