POP and Fireworks??

We are planning a surprise trip to DW the end of July beginning of August for a week before we head to the beach. Me and my DS(8) were looking at the DW DVD he thinks we are looking at it for our cruise next year Anyway when we were looking at the resorts he went crazy for POP. We can't do the Poly this trip with the cruise next year. We kept asking him wouldn't you like a resort with a slide or the boat to DTD but he said NO he wants to stay at POP. My question is I have seen people refer to being able to see the Illuminations fireworks from this resort. This would be a neat thing for both of my boys. Can anyone who has stayed there tell me where on the resort you need to be to see them. Is it a certain building or is it a more public area??

You can only see the higher fireworks from Illuminations, not all of them.

We stayed in the 50s bldg where the bowling pin pool was on the otherside of our room (behind it). When you walked out our door, the lake and the undeveloped otherside of Pop was on our left and the parking lot was straight ahead. We were on the 2nd floor.

The view on the 4th floor is much better but again, only the higher fireworks can be seen.
