Pop and AoA Buses?

Does anyone know whether Pop will share buses with AoA once it opens? Just curious. Thanks!

My guess is that they will share a bus loop similar to what is done at the All Stars and the Epcot resorts respectively. Probably some dedicated buses for pick-up in the peak morning hours, then shared buses off peak.

Judging by the road configuration (from Google maps), buses will return first to AoA and then Pop second.

One of the reasons we liked staying at Pop was the fact it didn't share a bus. I hope I'm wrong. ;)

OT nitpicking. It is easier for the buses to go to Pop Century first and Art of Animation second because the right side of the bus (and the doors) are in line with the platform without having to make a little loop-the-loop in front.

Before Kidani was opened there was just one bus stop (Jambo) at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Other resorts e.g. Caribbean Beach also have separate buses all the time with multiple stops within the resort.

Not sure how anyone knows the bus setup at AoA as of this moment.
But I have to agree that the resorts will most likely share a bus route, especially at the less busy times of day. For park opening and closing, they will probably have their own buses.

Thanks for the responses! Darn I was hoping they wouldn't but I guess only time will tell. We also like staying at Pop for that reason as well (well one of many of course) :))

Maybe.

If the bus stops at Pop first, it would have to continue around Century Drive and make a right turn to AoA bus loading. (I don't think they would try to make two lefts on Victory Way.)

Judging by the aerial image, the right turn from the Century Drive loop into AoA main driveway looked a looked a little tight. It seems most WDW buses take wider left turns than narrow rights.

Of course I don't know for certain but I have 25 years studying plans as a licensed land surveyor, so I made an educated guess.

Sorry if that bothers some. :worship:

I'm also in the camp that thinks the buses will be shared part time. That said the All Stars get a very bad rap when it comes to the bus topic. They rarely share buses....when they do,if it adds 5 minutes to the ride thats it. Plus, all the mods have multiple bus stops and no one says much about that.

Don't give a second thought to AoA and POP sharing buses.

You can get better off hours bus service with shared buses. For intermediate load times the shared buses can be run every 15 minutes or maybe every 12 minutes rather than every 20 minutes. (When the need gets down to shared buses every 10 minutes it is easy to switch over to separate buses.)

However extra buses should be run or order of stops varied so one resort is not consistently treated somewhat worse than the other(s) when any bus gets filled.

IMO, I don't think the majority of guests are concerned with off hours service.

I don't mind waiting a little more off hours or even in the morning. My primary gripe is how long it takes to get back to my room at the end of a long park day with a shared bus. Take the Epcot loop as an example. If I'm staying at Boardwalk, from MK I must stop at the Swan, the Dolphin, the Yacht Club and the Beach Club first. I know, I know....BW benefits outbound by being the last stop. But if this were "rush hour", I'm sure that a full bus at the Dolphin would go directly to MK without any further resort pickups.

I understand the logistics for having shared buses. But I don't agree that it necessarily provides better service.

My experience for BW to MK is it stops BW, Swan, Dolphin. Not sure about AK or DTD, I always drive.
