Just wondering...do you think that Pop will now share buses with AoA when it opens or will they have their own buses?

Disney has not made any announcement to that effect; until they do, it is anyone's guess.

I think the only reason POP has enjoyed its own unshared buses to this point is relative geographic isolation; there hasn't been a resort next door to share with that wouldn't add a ton of time/miles to the bus service. With POP & AoA combining for fewer bodies than the All Stars (based on max occupancy) I think it is wishful thinking that they'll both enjoy dedicated, unshared transportation. My guess is that they'll share except at peak times, like POFQ and POR or the three All Stars.

Sorry to disagree with PP, but POP will most likely NOT share buses. To be honest with the size of both POP and AoA, it will virtually be impossible to share a bus.

Nothing has been announced or even suggested, so the highers that be either haven't made their decision or they aren't as concerned with this as we are. ;)

This is the math that makes me think they'll share...

POP: 2880 rooms x 4ppl per room = 11,520
AoA: 1120 suites x 6ppl per room = 6,720
AoA: 864 rooms x 4ppl per room = 3,456

Total: 21,696

ASMo: 1920 rooms x 4ppl per room = 7,680
ASSp: 1920 rooms x 4ppl per room = 7,680
ASMu: 1604 rooms x 4ppl per room = 6,416
ASMu: 192 suites x 6ppl per room = 1,152

Total: 22,928

Since the All Stars often but not always share buses, I have to assume the bean counters at Disney will eventually decide efficiency dictates that POP and AoA will as well... The only way I could see them having separate buses is if Disney intends that to be a selling point to justify the fact that both are priced a bit higher than the All Stars despite having basically the same amenities.

Exactly!:)It is a common misconception that Pop Century/AoA will be MUCH bigger that the All-Star Resort and therefore will not share buses.:)

I fully expect POP and AoA to share buses, but ONLY in the non-peak late AM/early PM hours.Only time will tell.:)

We were told by desk CM in September 30,2011 that AOA is to have it's own dedicated buses just like POP has now. Let us all hope that is true. as POP has the best bus service of ANY Disney resort from deluxe down to values and we hope it stays that way:worship:

Wow, that makes for interesting reading (sorry, not meant to sound sarcastic) I always assumed that Pop was as big as the 3 AS put together , I'd never have thought it was only half as big. I always assumed they would have their own buses each but looking at those figures I'm not so sure anymore.

Very similar to POR and POFQ.

what makes it the best bus service/different then other resorts with their own service?
never stayed there myself

About one month ago I saw pictures of the Magic Kingdom Bus station being renovated and there was information which said they were adding a section for the Art of Animation Resort. So I would assume that means they are getting their own Buses and not having to share with Pop Century.

I have only stayed at Pop, ASSp, WL and CR. The All Stars, WL and CR all shared buses with other resorts. At Pop, there is 1 stop and the service has always been good at the resort. There are some issues at park closing...seems like it is always a long line, but once you are on a bus, you go directly to the hotel without any pit stops.

All-Star Sports,All-Star Music and All-Star Movies each have a "dedicated" Bus Stop at Magic Kingdom also, but they still share buses during NON-PEAK times of day.:)

Let's say it is 1:30 PM at the Magic Kingdom Bus Depot and there are 5 Guests waiting for a Pop Century bus and 5 Guests waiting for an Art of Animations bus.

I highly doubt Disney is going to run 2 buses with 5 Guests each instead of 1 bus with 10 Guests when the 2 Resorts are "next door, share the same lake neighbors".:)

Pop is the only resort that always has its own buses AND only has one stop within the resort. Pop had the best bus service of any of the resorts we've tried. CBR doesn't share buses but there are 7 (IIRC) stops around the resort so if you're picked up at one of the first few or dropped off at one of the last it seems like you're on the bus circling around your resort for a looooong time, and when heading to the parks there's potential for the bus to arrive at your stop already standing-room-only. And while most of the deluxes have only one stop, they share much/all of the time with other resorts in the area. Having just the one stop at BC wasn't much of an advantage when the bus was also stopping at at least one and sometimes all four other Epcot area resorts, which opened up the same situation with the bus arriving already nearly full when heading to the parks in the morning.
