I have already booked our trip but am now doubting myself beacuse I have not read a lot of good things about the Nick Hotel which is where we are booked.

Please help....

For three nights (Jan 2 to the 5th) / 5 people (3 adults & 2 children) then going on the 3 day Disney cruise.

Booked - Nick hotel -$595.44 (I know very expensive but can cancel)
1 day tickets to MK for 5 -$293.16 (I have not bought yet)
Estimated food - $400.00 (hoping to eat at CP and CRT)
TOTAL - $1288.60

Quotted through Disney - POP hotel with 1 day tickets and meal plan
TOTAL - $1236.66

1) Should I switch to the POP hotel - are there a lot of advantages to staying at Disney

2) Is the POP nice?

3) Should we get the meal plan (1 snack / 1 counter / 1 table)?

4) Any where to get discounts at the POP hotel?

5) Any thing else I should consider before changing our plans?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated, I have had this booked for a month and now feel really anxious????? Thanks

If you are a AAA member they often have good specials. If your not ,there is a web-site called, mousesaver.com ( I think this is the link) someone out there please correct me if I am wrong! Good luck. We enjoy staying on-stie, but ever one is different. :wizard:

Nick is all suites isn't it? Therefore you will have 2 bedrooms, three TV's for the price of a small room at POP. If you have more then 2 people take the deal at Nickelodeon (sp) suites!

I believe the OP is referring to the former Holiday Inn Suites now Nickelodeon suites, about 2 miles outside Disney..

I assume your quote for POP is for two rooms, bc only 4 can be in a room? What are the ages of your groups children? There are rooms at POR that have two double beds plus a trundle for a small child? Maybe you could quote that too for comparison?

I would stay on property. But I have never been to the Nick suites so I cant help with the comparison.

but I have stayed at Pop and it was nice. We only stay on property b/c of the convience of disney transportation, being able to charge to the room, package delivery, and to be totally immersed (sp?) in the magic. Pop is a nicely themed resort with 3 great pools, a large food court and giftshop area. I liked the 50's section which is where we stayed. It was a standard room and we had a great view of the bowling pin pool. The preffered section is the 60's and some of the back building would still be as far a walk to the food court and bus stop as some of the 50's. Although Pop is a value resort and lacks some of the ammenities as the mod or deluxe resorts, we still had excellent Disney service that I have become used to. I would stay at Pop again in the future.

Yeah 5 in a room at Pop would be a bit crowded. Unless the kids are very small and used to sleepin with mom and dad in a full sized bed anyway.

The dining plan is a great value. We was on the free dining last week and could really tell had we had to pay ourselves well it just wouldn't have happened we wouldn't have ate near as good.

TS dinners the most expensive meal so we did that.

BTW the rooms at Pop and All Stars are the same size but the All Stars rooms has more floor space. Bed at All stars is further from the door and the other is closer to the wall and it really makes a big difference in how much room there is in the room.
