Poorly Child

Yesterday after picking the kids up from school (DD10 & DS8) I had to go to Tescos, I offered the kids some doughnuts or cookies but DS said he didn't want any because he didn't feel too good.

I didn't really think anything of it and then back at home about an hour later while he was in the kitchen he shouts "mummy i've just been sick" so I shout "okay get to the toilet quickly", our downstairs loo is right next to the kitchen so a few feet away, well he misses completely and throws up massively just as he opens the toilet door, TWICE!!

Now, i'm a very bad mummy because I don't do at all well with sick and DH usually has to rush home from work to sort it out but he's in a new part of the job where he can't do that anymore. So DD puts kitchen roll over the top of it all (she went through 2 of them!) and after a frantic phonecall to DH where he insists he can't come home (he's 22 miles away) I wrapped his scarf round my nose and mouth, put on blue latex gloves, armed myself with air freshener and baby wipes and started clearing it up (I could have won £200 for this Kodak moment :rotfl:).

Meanwhile, DD is just looking at me horrified beacuse I can't stop retching and she thinks i'm going to be sick too.

All in all it was my worst nightmare (well, almost) and DS is off school today and getting lots of attention but he feels much better now.

eww poor you i am teriible and cant stand sick, hope he feels better soon

I've heard that covering sick with cat litter is a good way of cleaning up a mess like, that but i don't know if it works as i've never tried it.:confused3

I hope that Ds is feeling better today.:)

I'm exactly the same, I hate clearing sick up too. I hope he's feeling better today :)

Hope you ds is feeling better.x.

Oh dear, my Mum used to be exactly the same!, if we were sick she used to cover it up with whatever she could find until my Dad came home :rotfl2:
Luckily I'm not the same :goodvibes
Hope your DS is feeling much better today :)

Hope you son is feeling better today.

I too like many other diser's don't do sick, I am actually frightened of being sick and simply the smell is what send me of retching, luckily my boys always time sickness for when DH or DM is around, he has even had to clear up for me after the cat was sick, he thinks is funny but I break out into a hot sweat at the thought of it.

Will certainly remember the tip about the cat litter, you can always keep a small bag somewhere for such emergencies as it won't go off!

I'm ok with sick, really doesn't bother me...might come from working in a school though!!! There is some powder you can get which you put on the sick and drys it up and then you hoover it.

Hope your son feels better soon!

I hope your son feels better now. I work in a school too, but I don't do sick (I would be sick too!) Luckily my assistant is OK with it and she takes charge and uses the power and hoovers it up!!

Glad your DS is feeling better.

I don't do vomit either, so would have been totally hopeless with kids. Well done you for managing to clean it up.
