Poor, poor DH(maybe TMI??)

Aw, your kids are so beautiful, how could you not want anymore?! (I shouldn't talk, my boys are awesome too, but right now 3 IS ENOUGH! And I hear ya on the puking thing. I had the morning sickness all 9 months this last time! :()

Anyway, I hope it works for him this time! "Poor" guy! ;)

You don't know what the fuss is because you have different equipment. It's a very sensitive area for men. Any man who's been kicked in the 5 hole can tell you it's the worst pain they have ever felt. I'm sure there are plenty of women ready to play the birthing pain card card right now but I'm not trying to compare the two. No man will ever know how painful birthing a child is and no woman will ever understand how sensitive a man's testicles are.

Hey, I was kidding. Didn't you see the winks?

The horror! Not once, but twice!
Of course later on, he could brag about how it took 2 procedures to stop him.

Good one, I know that is how my husband would have looked at it!

I hope this one goes "right" for him! My DH had so much pain afterwards. Still does sometimes, but that is due to the doctor having a grip like a vise and using it before DH was numbed up!

Not to scare you, but my cousins just announced Baby No. 4-Four years after Baby 3 was born and four years after my cousins vascetomy. (And, yes, the baby is his...she did not cheat.)

Liz...you are so sweet! Your little guys are adorable too!!

Kristen...it's not so much the pain.....it's the shaving then the hair growing back that he dreads::yes::

Disney...that's what I am sure will happen to us. I thought this procedure had a pretty good success rate but I am hearing about many pregnancies after vasectomies!!! :earseek: :earseek:

:)

My h would rarely admit to any pain, but I could see how much it hurt. For such a small little cut, it hurt a lot. But he also did play for sympathy, especially when other people came over.

Instead of him going through this again, why don't you get your tubes tied or get norplant or something along those lines? I'm sure its probably a lot less painful than a vasectomy.

I understand you've given birth to 5 children, but I don't think the pain of child birth was that bad.

Well...he has volunteered to do this for us and for our family, first of all.

Second, the recovery time for a vasectomy is less than a week. For a tubal I understand it's at least 2 weeks....this according to my doctor and a few friends.

As far as the norplant...not too sure about side affects.

And I'm not complaining about childbirth...never have. It was painful....but I personally found the months of terrible sickness worse.

A tubal requires general anesthesia and a vasectomy does not. And I think the recovery from the tubal is more difficult too. A tubal is riskier than a vasectomy and long term hormone use is too.

Sorry... Men! They're such babies. Any female would be able to handle it without a problem. It makes sense to me to have him do it than a female to have a tubal. Quick procedure for them as opposed to the women's being much longer. Before I ever remarry, you better believe he'll agree to doing it! :teeth:

I think that after all that the Moms go through to have children (not to mention 4!) that men should be the ones to get "snipped". Especially when you consider how invasive a tubal is compared to a vasectomy.
