Poor Bolt - Unknown at the Parks

Oddly enough, Toys R Us online has a much nicer-looking Mittens than Disneyshopping.com. Toys R Us's website was sold out of it, but I found the same one on another toy store site and ordered it tonight (we have two Targets nearby but I don't venture near them during this season). I also ordered a Bolt t-shirt from Disneyshopping.com. The only good logos were on the create-your-own shirt area, so I just selected the logo and didn't customize it with any words. I ordered a couple of Incredibles shirts too with custom wording. I added "When everyone's super, no one will be" under a pic. of Syndrome and did another one with a pic. of Edna, captioned "No capes." Sure wish they had a pic. of Cobra Bubbles in the Lilo & Stitch section...I'd have him captioned, "Thus far you have been adrift in the sheltered harbor of my patience."

Now I'm gonna have to go back to DHS with my plush Bolt AND Mittens for photos! That line is wicked long, and it moves slowly because they spend time with each group. Was well worth it tho'.

it's that way for many CMs (not all!), they're employed by disney, but not necessarily fans thereof.

i had the same problem calling the switchboard to find out what time the sets were. all i got was 'who?' ... 'bolt?' ... and after putting me on hold for 5 minutes she came back and said 'bolt? you want to know the show times at the movie theater?'

it was even worse when i was trying to track down darby. the CMs actually wanted me to explain to them who she was over and over before they'd find out the info.

What kind of Darby stuff did you end up finding? Ds (3) loves her. He thinks she's great because she has a scooter! :)

Did you end up seeing her anywhere in the park?

Sorry to hijack a bit!

Haven't gone out to see Bolt yet but I plan on it once things settle down. Shame it looks like a real cute movie.

The ONLY WALL-E merchandise at the Austin, TX store in June and July were 3 different t-shirts and a 18" tall WALL-E robot. They didn't sell out, they just didn't have any more items and my kids were ready to buy some stuff after seeing the movie. Now, they have an entire wall of merchandise that is heavily discounted.
We were at Disney right after they released HSM and I was shocked at how little merch they had. Maybe they just underestimated how fast it would take off but that doesn't seem like Disney's style. :confused3
We love the Disney store but sadly, the other 2 stores have closed here in Austin. With the HUGE amount of inventory I saw yesterday and today at the Disney store at 50% off, I worry that this location will be closing soon too. We will be so sad not to be able to shop there every week because we think of it as our own little WDW gift shop down the street.:goodvibes

Your store must have been sent very little inventory because we had quite a bit of merchandise when WALL-E was released...interesting. That really does stink that they were low on merchandise.

Don't worry about the 50% off sale, it's company-wide and it's just a holiday promotion. We had it at my store last night (I was actually there as a guest instead of a CM!) so no worries. I did take notice to what Bolt merchandise we had though...we had Bolt and Mittens plush, but no Rhino as of yet. Also we did have the children's tee's.

The best thing you can do is visit and shop at your store every week because every little bit does help! :thumbsup2

If anyone is going soon, can you please find out how long Bolt will be meeting people at DHS? We are going in January and I would love to surprie DD with a visit with the Bolt characters. She doesn't like DHS much so that would really brighten our day!

Here are my Bolt pics, posted in my blog (just scroll down to the end of the entry):

Their antics were great! They spent some time with each group, and there were people just standing around watching...not even in line, just observing the fun with different groups.

There was no info. on how long they'll be doing a meet and greet, but the line was long so hopefully their popularity means they will be around for a while.

If they had a frequent buyer program, we would be titanium members! Lost count on how many character cell phones the 3 yr old has.
We will continue to shop there to keep the revenue coming in! I hope your store stays open through these hard times.

OMG! It's funny to watch the evolution of the Disney Store cell phones! The phones we have now are better than my personal phone! LOL!!!

Thanks for shopping! If you're ever in PA, stop by my store! :thumbsup2

That happened to me too! When Chicken Little came out my then 2.5 year old niece was in love with the characters so a few weeks later (movie was still in theaters) I was at WDW and asked many CMs for the merchandise and a few looked at me like I was nuts...they had no idea what that movie was!

Meet the Robinsons was the same way, nearly entirely forgotten in the parks...and all 3 of those movies have been of the Non-Pixar variety....hmm....

We stopped by the Disney Outlet at Hershey, PA today. I snagged one of the large size Bolt plushes there (actually, my DH bought him for me for Christmas). Too cute! He looks so much like my Blue Merle Cardigan Welsh Corgi did as a pup.

Any ways, the outlet only had one more large Bolt, c. ten smaller Bolts, and two small Mittens plush as of shortly after noon today. The cashier that I spoke with said they have been getting new Bolt stock in daily, Monday thru Friday... but it sells out almost as quickly as they can put it out on the shelves. They just can not keep up--Bolt & friends are so popular right now.

We were out at Disneyland right after Wall-e had opened and we had movie shirts that we had purchased on-line. It was amazing how many cast members came up and asked us where we had bought them and commented, "I wish they'd sell Wall-e stuff at the parks".
