Pools in Early December

We used to go every year at Christmas. It really does just depend on the weather. The pools are heated but they aren't bath-tub warm or anything.

The problem in the winter months is the air temperature, not the pool temps. That said, it's still usually pretty comfortable during the day in early December - I wanna say 70-ish? But it can get chilly at night.

Winter in the south is really hit or miss. I grew up on the gulf and sometimes we’d have Christmas pool parties, and sometimes we’d be shivering in sweaters.

Nothing could have gotten me into the pools this last Christmas. We came down in January, and some days it was in the 30s and 40s. There were days the high was in the 40s. We were so cold walking around. Other days, it was much warmer, highs close to 70, but I still wouldn’t have called it pool weather.

You just never know. I always pack a bathing suit, but don’t count on using it unless the place I’m staying has an indoor pool or there’s a hot tub.

I've gone to WDW the second week of December in 2 different years - once it was absolutely freezing, like needed gloves and coats and scarves and could barely survive sitting outside for candlelight professional. The second time it was mildly warm, maybe on the cool side in the evenings, we never really needed coats, and we did enjoy going to the pool a couple of afternoons!

I have been several times in December and January. Some visits were warm and others I needed a hat. One was freezing right until the day we left and that day was 80 degrees. The only common denominator for the colder visits was my husband. I am planning on a cold December trip because he will be joiningg us! LOL!
