Hi,

We're staying at PP between 27th Dec and 1st Jan. will the pool be open? Will it be warm enough to swim/slide?

We've been to Florida WDW during Xmas before and the weather appears to be similar during Christmas holidays (please correct me if I'm mistaken!) and all the water parks were open but I notice the water parks in California are closed over these winter months?

Be grateful for any help.

Thank you!

We were at DLR in Nov '11 and beginning of Oct '12. I grew up in FL, so I know the weather there in the winter. Anyway, it was not warm enough to swim in November except for maaaaybe the last day - it was warmerrrr but I wouldn't have gotten in. I think it hit high 70s/low 80s. In October, it had been over 100 the week before and then cooled off a bit, mid to high 80s, and the water was still on the chilly side at the GCH, and the DLH water was a bit warmer, but it was breezy and we didn't stay in very long.

So... I wouldn't count on being able to swim, but bring your suits just in case? In my opinion it was cooler than in FL.

I should add, we live up north now, and are used to swimming when it's cooler, but it was on the nippy side.

The pools will be open and heated. But with that said, it's too cold for us to think about swimming, but we are so cal natives. I have seen plenty of people swimming - I assume they are all from very cold places and the weather seems balmy to them.

We've been in early December and it was in the low/mid 60s the whole time. Too cold even for us Northerners.

The pools will be open, but it may or may not be warm enough to swim. I'd take suits JIC :goodvibes

If the pools are open and heated I think you 'could' swim. It's just a matter of if you want to or not.

I remember as a child visiting relatives in CA in January. They were in jackets and I was in shorts. It just depends on what you're used to.

Our travel times are the same  and I was wondering the same thing. We will be leaving temperatures in the single digits or negatives so I was hoping it would be warm enough to swim also.....fingers crossed!

Typically, at that time of year, you are looking at temps in the high 60's during the day. But you never know around here -- we went on January 6th & 7th this year, and had weather in the low- to mid-80's...my son had a blast in the pool!

We are going mid-December and packing our suits for sure! I'm hoping we can swim mid-day, but worst case we are all planning on using the hot tub, including my DD lol

Thanks for your responses guys! I have switched hotels from PP to DLH so hoping with fingers crossed that we get to use the pool!

We loved our pool day over Christmas week 2013, even rented a cabana half day. In 2011 we visited in May and December and it was much warmer and sunnier over Christmas week than it had been on May, which had been cold and dreery the entire visit. December can go either way, but we've gonnen lucky with highs in the 70s.
