are the pools at the value resorts heated?? we will be going for a few days in December and just wondered if we can expect to swim a bit..

Thats what I thought but a TA told me Thursday they were.. I didnt say anything to her, but thought Id ask here.. Its amazing that a TA is selling a vacation and doesnt know what shes talking about..

even in summer they are heated. Our last august trip I thought I would croak. I was looking to dive into refreshing cool water to cool down, but dove into a bathtub instead! Not crazy about that in August!

well then.. maybe she did know what she was talking about.. Once she mentioned it I hoped she was right because me and my 7 yr old are heading that way for a few days for a surprise to her.. Thanks for the comments

Although the pools are heated, bring a bathrobe. When U get out it can be a little on the chilly side. Not exactly cold but chilly. A nice warm bathrobe will keep you warm for your walk back to your room. :)

I went last Oct and wish I had my bathrobe to put on over the suit. The towel just wasnt big enough. This year I am packing terry bathrobes for both myself and DS6.

In the winter they are heated artificially, and in the summer, Mother Nature heats them. Disney has no control over the pools being heated by the summer sun, that's why the pools are not refreshing in the summer.

interesting--we were told even in summer they are heated to maintain temperature.

Yep - the pools are heated at least in the winter, the water in February was warmer than the air at POR!

Never under estimate a TA...

My friends live in Florida, and let the sun heat there pool, and beleve me, it DOESN'T heat well at all!! Im allmost positive they heat artifically during the summer too.

When AKL first opened up, a CM said they didn't heat it in the summer. In June, it was so hot, I didn't want to go in. I figured he was correct, as it would have been a waste of money to heat a pool when it was 92 degrees and blazing sun outside.

yea even in NJ our built in pool is 85 right now from all these warm days weve been having. i love it!

If the pools are heated seasonally, what time of year does that start? Please say by November...

I can't say whether they are heated in the summer-- we went in June and the water didn't feel cold but that doesn't mean it was heated! It was hot outside! LOL

But I can say that I've been in Oct, Nov, Dec, and Jan and each time steam came off the pools at the value resorts when it got cooler in the evening... definitely were heated then!

depends upon when it get cold - as long as it is in the 70 at night - don't count on the pool being heated.

I think the water temperature at night has to drop below 65 or 68???? for the pools to be heated....don't ask me where that came from certainly don't remember!

the pools are definitely heated in the winter!!! sometimes in the spring.
