Pools at ASMu

We booked an ASMu Family Suite for May '09 so that we would have a little more room since we are doing a 14 day trip this time instead of a 5 day trip. Can anyone tell me about the pools there? Pics would be great if you have any. We do plan to spend some time at the pool and I'm wondering what we would enjoy more - the extra space at ASMu or a better pool at a moderate or deluxe resort.

Hi! I don't have any pics. but just I just wanted to say that we've stayed at all types of resorts (value, mod. & deluxe) & for my family, I'd upgrade to a resort with a nicer pool.

My kids couldn't care less about the room we get, but oh they love the pools at BCV, AKV, & CBR.

I don't have pics to post, but I think you will like the pools at ASMu. There are two pools - the main one is the calypso pool. You room will be closest to this pool. This is where most people swim. It has all the night time activities including the giant beach ball and the night time movies. They also have other activities for kids.

The other pool is the piano pool, and my personal favorite, since I like quiet. I found this pool to be very uncrowded. I spent a couple mornings there on my trip last August when it was extremely hot. I never noticed that pool to be overcrowded. In general, I found the pools at ASMu to be much more enjoyable than the pools at POP.

The other nice thing about AsMu is its right between AsSports and Movies. You can take advantage of the pools at both those resorts. Each has a different theme. In my opinion, both of those resorts are easy to walk to.

The big difference between the mod and the value pools is no slide.

I think the difference in the size of the suite outweighs any negatives with the pools.

Children seem to really enjoy the three cabrellos with the squirting water at All Star Music.

They also have lots of pool activities at All Star Music.

This a photo of the list of the All Star Music activities for June 2008.

All Star Music has a child wake the up the 3 Cabrellos each morning.

The parks were not bad. More crowded than we expected but nothing horrible. We waited in line to meet characters longer then we waited for rides!

Waking up the trio - I don't know what it's really called or if it has a name - anyway dh took dd out to swim while I packed. Around 9:30 or 10:00 the lifeguard came over and asked dd if she wanted to help "wake up the trio" (they have names I just don't know them.) the 3 squirting guys at the main pool:

He told her they had been out all night with Mickey but it was time for them to wake up and start squirting. So he gave her maracas and a tambourine and they started playing music and voila the trio started spraying water for the day. She got a sombrero (sp?) hat, a little pair of maracas and a certificate. She was so excited about it. It was neat.

Daisyduck123 - I definitely get what you are saying, and that was my concern.

On the other hand, I had no idea they did so many pool activities. I think while the kids are so little, we made the right choice. When they get older and are better swimmers, the better pools might be worth it.

I feel much better about my decision now

I really enjoyed the pools at ASMU. My kids loved all the activities they have there. Since your kids are so young I wouldn't spend the money to upgrade just for the pool.

They do have a kiddie pool that is very shallow. It is located right at the end of the main pool. The little ones enjoy it and since it is right by the main pool Parents have easier time keeping track of children who may be using both pools.
