Two questions, please.

1. The pools at Ft. ... Is there a zero entry area, or, even better, is there a shallow area...say, 3 feet or so? I thought I remembered reading there was a nice stretch of shallow.

2. If we are staying in a cabin, is there a certain area/loop that we should try to request?

There are no zero entry pools, infact, the FW pools are pretty basic, but they do have a fairly large 3 foot section. The main pool at Meadows also has a kiddie pool. As for the cabin loops I can't help with that, I think 2500 is close to the pool, but if you just request that you want to be near the pool(if that is indeed what is most important to you)they will do their best to get you there.

The cabin pool is between loop 2500 and 2700 and across the road from 2600.
