Pool view vs. standard view at AKL

With the new summer discount we just saved a substantial amount on our standard room at AKL. With the discount, we can upgrade to a pool view for just $53 more. Seems like a no brainer to me. DH agrees but is worried that it will be noisy. (We still have nightmares from our stay at POP where our room faced a pool--not the main one. We didn't book pool view, but our room faced the one in the 80's section and it was so noisy at night. We had a hard time getting our girls to sleep).

Has anyone found the pool view to be noisy?
The CM offered to put a request of an upper floor so that it would minimize noise--good idea or just leave it be?

The pool situation at AKL is different from Pop in that there are lots of trees around the pool at AKL. This dampens the noise, but also can block your view - especially from the upper floors.

Was the $53 for the whole stay? Or just one night?

We had a pool view and didn't have any trouble with noise. I ended up going with a pool view over standard as it was only $10 more a night and I'm glad I did. We've never stayed standard view so I can't comment on that room type, but our pool view was very convenient to the lobby, gift shop, and the elevator going down to the pool and Mara. But with that said, we never experienced noise from the hall or elevator. If it were me, I'd go with the pool view for the nice view, as well as the convenience to the lobby and pool .

We love pool view. So much better than a parking lot view. When we stayed we had a 4 and 3 yr old who mapped everyday and it was fine.

Was the $53 for the whole stay? Or just one night?

The $53 is for the entire stay. Typically, it's around $10/11 additional per night, but with the summer discount it turned out to be only $5.89 per night.

I'm glad to hear noise from the pool hasn't been a problem for anyone.

We love the pool view rooms. They are our favorite and they have never been too noisy. The only time we really notice the news in mid afternoon when they are doing the pool games, but it was never an issue and our little one even napped through it.
