Pool usage for points renter

I am renting points at BCV and just want to know if we can use storm along bay pool or is it only for BC & YC resorts? I've read conflicting comments on the subject.

Also, can points renters pool hop like DVC members? I've read that sometimes your guest pass reads DVC member... can anyone clarify this for me?

If your room is at BCV, then you can use SAB and the Dunes Cove Pool.

You will be held to the pool hopping rules, so if you are traveling during a peak season and pool hopping is not allowed, then you can't.

Your resort ID will say DVC Member because you are utilizing a member's points through rental.

Thanks. That does answer my questions. We are traveling in Sept. so it is value season. So, it looks like we will be able to pool hop. We are interested in checking out the BWV pool and are thinking of becoming DVC members ourselves.

I think you also have to show your blue DVC card too. If that is the case than you will not be able to pool hop as a renter of points.

From the member web site:

You and any Guests staying with you at Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Beach Club Villas or Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are permitted to use other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you're staying) if they are not at capacity. If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that resort hotel. Please check with a Host/Hostess at the Front Desk of the resort hotel you wish to visit to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your "Key to the World" card with your "Disney Vacation Club Member" designation on it to use other resort hotel pools. Pool hopping is not available at Uzima Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. In addition, this restriction includes the leisure pools at these two resort hotels. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time because of capacity limitations. Due to expected high occupancy, Disney Vacation Club Members may not "pool hop" during the following dates*:


February 20 - 26, 2005
March 19 - 27, 2005
May 27 - 30, 2005
June 27 - July 4, 2005
September 2 - 5, 2005
November 21 - 27, 2005
December 17, 2005 - January2, 2006

Technically, renters are NOT entitled to the DVC member perks when paying for a reservation. A guest of a member staying with the member may be entitled to these persk. With the new tickets, more and more we hear that you must show your DVC Blue Member card to get those perks. Don't plan on getting any DVC member perks, but you might if your room ID says DVC member.
