Pool towels: which resorts have them?

Instead of digging through pages and pages of posts (I did run a search but it was looking for pool OR towels and not the phrase) I’ll just ask.

Are pool towels available at ALL of the resort pools? Only mod/delux? Only at the feature pools? Are they free at the resorts that DO have them?

Pool towels for 5 is practically another whole suitcase, and I’m making packing lists.

I know every deluxe we’ve stayed at has had pool towels at the main pool, which is where we usually hang out. Free for the taking, with a used towel bin to drop them in when you’re done.
(DH adds that the quiet pools at deluxes also have towels.)

Show your room key and you will get pool towels - deluxe and moderate plus also true at the Swan & Dolphin

You don't need to show a room key (or magicband, since there aren't room keys anymore). The towels are in a cart and you take as needed, with a dirty towel bin near the entrance/exit.

For future searches, try using quotation marks: "Pool towels", not pool towels. For any search, actually.

Pretty sure they are available at all the pools including the motels (value and mods).

You don't need to show a room key (or magicband, since there aren't room keys anymore).

I’m being “that guy”...you can still get a key card. It’s in their MB privacy policy that you can request a card if you don’t want to use the band.


Has nothing to do with pool towels, though.

Pool Towels are now available at all WDW Resorts.

The Value Resorts began gradually adding them to their Pools in early 2016 beginning with Grand Slam Pool at All-Star Sports.

All of them. Values always had them but that ended in 2015. It came back in 2016.

We have well over 350 nights at the Values since 2003 and early 2016 at Grand Slam was the first Value Pool we ever saw with Pool Towels.

The Value Pools always had the "Return Bins" to place towels brought from the room but no Pool Towels.

Maybe we just somehow never saw them.

They are not provided at the Fort Wilderness pool.

That’s what I was going to say. I think the only one that doesn’t is Fort Wilderness. Really surprised us when we stayed there as all others we stay at do.

Towels from home or from their room. Every trip prior to 2016 when staying Value I was asking housekeeping for towels for our pool days. It was a very common complaint against the Values.

Guests brought their room towels,requested some from Housekeeping,got some at the Front Desk and occasionally Housekeeping would place a cart with towels by the first floor elevators in the buildings by the Pools.

Until the last few years the Values were "denied" amenities like Fridges,Pool Towels,etc. to "distinguish" them from the Moderates.

But that all changed a few years ago and Disney is no longer doing that.

I can only speak from my personal experience,but since I started staying at the Values in 2003 the first time I ever saws Pool Towels at a Value is pictured below at Grand Slam in early 2016.

I remember doing several double-takes!lol

Then Pool Towels appeared a while later at Surfboard Bay and then a while later at Calypso and then at Piano and eventually at all the Values.
