I know the weather can vary quite a bit and we won't know for sure until just before the trip, but do you THINK we should PLAN any pool time October 6th through 9th?

We are from the midwest and can handle it a little cooler.

I did look at the weather thread by the way. That was a good idea.

Just looking for what most of you would plan. Schedule pool time and do something else if it doesn't work out? Or don't even bother, the chances are slim to none that we'll feel like swimming?

I would. We're from NM, so anything is warm to us in the winter (compared to home.) We went swimming in Oct. last year. I don't remember it being chilly at all.

During the day early October is still hot IMO. The night time and mornings are when it's cool and you can tell that Fall is in the air. Even on Thanksgiving it's hot here!

have fun and swim away :)

When we were there last year from the October 5-9 it was nice and warm. We only used the pool on the night of the 8 as we didn't have time to use it at any other time. It was great! When we go in November we will definitely plan on using the pool. Hey, anything will be warmer to us by the time we go, and winter will have barley started! :thumbsup2

Definitely plan on having some swim time. With your kids ages, you'll want to take an afternoon break from the parks. We would go back to the hotel for a nap and then a swim in the afternoon. Then we'd head back to the parks refreshed for the rest of the evening. We've been there before in early October and the weather was quite pleasant for an afternoon swim.

Absolutely! It was quite warm when we were there last October. Gave us something to do also when the parks were just too crowded for us.

Great! So again, I know we'll check the weather before we go, but for planning purposes...what do you think?

Shorts and t-shirts mostly. Pack jeans and a sweatshirt/jacket just in case?

I'm getting so excited now!

Yes, make sure you pack shorts and t-shirts. For that time of year you want to have layers. Because at night it can be chilly. So you'd want pants and a sweater for those evening hours. I made the mistake of not bringing enough shorts, it was always hot enough when we were there during the day for them!

...so now i'm wondering if i'll need to dress my girls in jeans and a light jacket or sweater for the mornings? we're planning on doing an MM at 8am (thursday 10/9) so we'll be out of the hotel by 7:30am or so.....i am planing on having pants/jackets for the evenings, but now it sounds like i'll need pants/jackets for the little ones too for the mornings.

Maybe go with shorts and t-shirt with a sweater/sweatshirt over that. When it warms up, they can just take off the sweater.

We were in Disneyland last November, and had a swim break everyday.

Of course, we're from Alaska, so its a heat wave for us, and come to think of it we may have been the only ones in the pool each day, but it is definately doable.

I would do capris and a short sleeve shirt w/ a light jacket. Shorts might be a little too summery. Especially because it does cool down at night. I had a knit sweater I would wear in the evenings. I remember using it at Mickey's Halloween Treat. So it wasn't that hot out.

We've gone to DL several times in December and swam in the pools. The pools are heated if you are staying on-site.
