After reading the extended thread on the pool temps. I thought it would be interesting to see what temp. is tolerable to most people.

I think lowering the temp a few degrees to keep our dues in line, it's not a big deal. I look at DVC as my home away from home, and if I had a heated pool at home and the energy costs were going through the roof, I would lower the temp of my pool.

Just my opinion.

I don't much care as long as the hot tub is still hot! :teeth:

Me, too! I rarely use the pools but I love the hot tubs at Disney resorts. I haven't been "home" yet to a DVC location but I can't believe pool temp would bother me too much.

I grew up in Wisconsin with the water at the public pool in the park often at 67 degrees. Above 80 must be like bath water.

I really don't know what to answer to your question is for me.

I didn't think it would matter much to me either being from upstate NY...
BUT we were at the Poly over a nice sunny Pres. Week and I did not enjoy "swimming" with my girls. It wasn't bad if you kept moving but since I was 'swimming' with my 4 year old, which means I stand and hold her while she swims, I got cold. My DD10 was freezing herself by going down the slide twice (and this is one that wears short sleeve shirt and fleece jacket to school in winter). I don't look back at our afternoon in the pool as a fun afternoon.

I like my pool water on the warm side. I did notice the pool at BCV and VWL was a little cooler than at other disney properties I have been to...so I just went in the hot tub. I need it warm for my legs.

Can tolerate 78 - 80 so that is how I voted. However if you asked what I prefer, it would be 84. That is where we keep our pool.

We were swimming in our pool about 2 weeks ago and the temp of the water was a brisk and chilly 75. Yeah it was cold, but no worse than swimming in Lake Michigan as a child.

It is not what I prefer.. but it was doable.

I like 83 degree pool water, and have found that to be a great compromise at our local YMCA between those just playing in the water, and those actively swimming many laps for exercise. With the money we pay in dues, I hate to see people have thier vacations ruined because the pools are too cold from this new change to lower temperatures from last year for thier children to enjoy. If costs need to be cut, there seems like many other opportunities that would have less of a negative impact. I've already sent my letters.
