Pool question, No flames please just need clarification

Thanks again everyone for all your various opinions and thoughtful insight for this situation. A Water Park is not an option. Just can't see the grandparents doing that. Although it might be fun to see pepe and meme going down the waterslide or swimming with the sharks! Keep the opinions coming. I am sure others have been in this situation before. Does anyone know if the resorts actually have wrtten rules and regulations that could be reviewed as far as visiting guests and the pool situation? Everyone have a great day.

last september when we were staying at WL the pool slide was broken and my kids who have a pool at home were up set (that is why we booked resprt at disney for their pool slide ) so we asked at front desk and they said just take the boat over to the contemporary no problem!! my kids love the cntemperatry slide it is huge but i hate the contemporary so we ha d teh best of both worlds that trip.. We stay at disney often and we have never seen any one get checked.. again i say just ask at he front desk no biggie disney is in te habit of making guests stays magical and i also hardley think that 2 grandparenst at the pool with the kids is a big deal... enjoy

I do not think it would be a problem at all.

If you are worried, stop at the front desk and ask the manager....they will allow it and be happy that you asked.

That said, when we checked into the Ft. W cabins last summer we had to sign a paper that said we were aware of the "no pool hopping" rule.

The written rule is the pools are for exclusive use of registered guest in that resort. Generally the CM's will work with you as long as you're reasonable. Even SAB has been know to allow registered guests to have a few guests. but IT'S A COURTESY NOT A RIGHT so reading rules won't help you.

LLP - the code that is on your resort ID has a specific number that is unique to each resort. We wouldn't know it, but CM's can tell by the number which resort you're at.

Those people that you may have seen coming from other areas to use the pool at a resort may be DVC members, who are allowed to pool-hop except for certain black out dates, and when pools are over crowded.

Not sure if the OP is staying at the Lodge or the Villas, but officially the quiet pool is a DVC pool for DVC members and there are signs posted to this effect.

Of course as I am sure someone will post it is not enforced at this time, but members have complained about it be more crowded lately so enforcement might be on the way.

We stayed at the Poly and they (management..actually the concierge confirmed for us) that our two guests could sit with us by the pool. They told us it would be no problem since we were guests. My friend and her son stayed for an hour or so, then we went on a boat rental for a while. My request was granted at the AKL as well. My friend lives in Orlando and will come to WDW when we visit and have dinner with us or go to the parks. Usually, she brings her young son and we relax at the hotel, have lunch, a swim, then go to dinner. I always request permission and have never been turned down. She does not stay the night and although the concierge said she could ...she did not partake of the concierge lounge treats.

Sammie - We are staying at the Lodge, so we will be using the Lodge pool.

lookingforward - Thanks for sharing what you have experienced in the past. We are also staying Concierge, so maybe I'll just ask them how we should handle it.

My main goal is just to let the grandparents be able to swim with the grandkids for a couple of hours. Maybe if my DH and I stay out of the pool at this time and let the grandparents take our place. That way there is still only four people in the pool (our room occupancy) instead of six.

oh my goodness- have them over and let the grandparents make some wonderful disney memories with their grandkids! Its two people for a short amount of time that are also disney resort guests. we have had guests come visit us at the resort we have stayed at and it never has been a issue at the pools. have a wonderful vacation with your family!

We always stay at the Yacht Club and there have been a few times our friends who live in Orlando will come and spend the day with us at the resort. They dislike the parks (don't understand them!) so we spend the afternoon between the room and the pools. We always asked whether or not they can be guests and with the exception of one time because the resort was crowded they have always said yes. The time we couldn't we sat at the quiet pool.
