When we checked into the BW last month the CM at the front desk told us that the pools were open 24 hours/day. But the signs on the pools say they are open till midnight. Because of the signs DW wouldn't swim with me after midnight. Has anyone else noticed this?

I was there two weeks ago and have the "Boardwalk Bugle" here. It states that the number 10 most frequently asked question is : "What are the hours of Luna Park and the Quiet pools?" answer: "All pools are open 24 hours".

You may have seen a sign that shows the time the "Keister Coaster Slide" closes as that does not remain open 24 hours. :)

The slides usually close when the lifeguards go off duty. They even turn the water off so you can't go down the slide unless you wanted to scootch all the way down!! :/

So if the pool remains open after that then I guess it's "swim at your own risk" ;)

ohiominnie :p

Well - the posted hours on the signs are when the lifeguards are there and when the slide is open.

We saw many people swimming at other times.

When I was @ OKW they had signs up saying that the pools closed at some point in the evening. That didn't make too much sense to me as there isn't even a slide to speak of.... What is the deal with that? Do they actually close, or is it just your own risk or something else?

And what about the Quiet Pool @ VWL?

Last summer, I took my children to the main OKW pool at about 10:05 p.m. to have a cast member who was picking up towels tell me that the pool was closed. This made no sense to me seeing that there are never life guards there, the pool is not terribly near any vacation homes and most Disney pools are open much later. The cast member was very rude about it. I went in to the front desk and spoke with the manager, and he decided to make an exception. He said that this was a policy voted on by DVC members. I don't remember ever being asked, but I think that that is the answer DVC cast members use for any situation members question.
He also explained that they might put chemicals into the pool at night and then how would people know that it wasn't safe to swim. I suggested signage when the pool is unsafe.
