Pool hopping

Well for us, we are going down because DH has a conference. Since we have points to spare, the kids and I are going to hang out at WDW, rather than hang out at home. But since DH isnt available during the day, we wont be doing the parks........

We will be in Disney July 4-9 and will be mostly pool hopping. Any suggestions as to the best pool to visit?

Yeah. Yacht/Beach club. I hear that's the best pool. I'm staying there. Bring your refillable mug and get me some refills while you're there. Oh and don't forget the stroller so we can push everyone out of the way. Come over about noon. I'll have the towels on the lounge chairs early in the morning to save em.

We thought the CRS pool was really fun. We loved the slide, you go really really fast if you lay down lol. Hope you have fun :)

Make sure you bring your room key to the pool at YC/BC. They won't let you in without proof you're a guest there.

Just a warning, fromwhat I've heard Disney is checking for resort ID's at all of the pools now due to the increased crowds during the summer. My understanding of the DVC members priveleges is that they can only pool hop to other DVC pools. Is this correct? I'd hate to see a DVC member get kicked out of the pool at AKL because they had the wrong information.
Your understanding regarding the DVC member pool hopping restrictions are not correct, although you are correct about the AKL pool itself (it and SAB are never open to pool hopping for DVC members). DVC member can pool hop to all on-site pools except SAB and the pool at the AKL unless pool hopping has been restricted due to expected crowds. Holiday periods (Easter break, Christmas week, and most major holidays) are almost always restricted, as is the case this weekend for Independence Day. DVC members are advised to call the resort first to be sure hopping has not been restricted on a particular day.

Denmark, when all of my friends ask why I go to WDW so often... your list of "things to do" is right on the nail!! these pool hopping threads are always something aren't they???? :rotfl:

I'm kind of envious of DVC members who can pool hop. I know some posters questioned why anyone would take the time to do that and I guess it depends on what you're family likes to do. We like to swim! Alot!

When we go to a hotel, the first thing we check out is the pool. By the time we leave, we've explored it from top to bottom. So, some kind of 'magical' pass to pool hop around the resorts would be golden with our family. Yes, we would take the time.

That being said, I wouldn't chance the embarrassment of being kicked out of another resort for pool hopping. Not in front of my kids.

:rotfl2: Is this a "for real question"?... pool hopping posts are always the "hottest" threads going, and i usually read them with interst.....
.

I have been on the Disney boards for a longgggggg time and until just VERY recently, I had NO idea pool hopping wasn't allowed! I have never had an interest at all in doing so, so haven't read any of the threads, didn't even know this was a hot topic. So, it can most certainly be a real question. I have a friend that lives down there and she goes a lot and she pool hops all the time! She is not a board reader. Is this information CLEARLY provided at the resorts? Just curious. Also, how would anyone even have a clue that you were not staying at that resort if you walked in fully dressed, went for a meal and then went to the pool? Again, just curious.

Yes it is clearly marked that the pools are for the use of resort guests only.

This doesn't sound "clearly" to me at all. I can see people seeing this and thinking they are a WDW resort guest, so they would be fine to be there. Does is say the resort name exactly?

OH, and BTW....if anyone from the thread I was on before I left is reading this, you might remember I asked about the 9 and 11 year olds going to the pool alone and what was the age they were technically allowed to. It is 12. A 12 year old can in fact be alone at the pool.

I thought that was pretty clear whenever I stayed at a resort. Some people what they want to see when they read signs at Disney. Just ask about refillable mugs and the signs. It is amazing how some people justify pool hopping.

This poster has said in another thread that they are DVC members. Why does every jump to conclusions without even investigating? A siimply click to find other posts of the OP would have answered any questions before having to give snide remarks.

And that probably does not matter. DVC limits pool hopping during holiday periods.

So the only pool you can hop to DVC or no over July 4th is the one at your hotel.

I'm staying at the BW in October... How is the pool there? We will have a 5 yr old (who i think was a fish in a past life).

Denmark thanks for the laugh.

As I was just going to post prior to Denmark providing a photo of the signage. The signs state the exclusive use of that particular resort. So it would say Polynesian guests on the signs at the Polynesian pool, etc.

Also this is stated in the information sheets given to each guest at check in.

Who knew pools would be so controversal
I'd say any pool would be divine, as long as you bring your refillable mug along, and fill it at the resort you're visiting...

The signs are very clear. They do not say pools are for resort guests. They name the specific resort that the pool is in. At the Poly there are signs EVERYWHERE that state the pool is for guests of the Polynesian only. Sounds pretty clear to me unless one is illiterate.

It is a shame that people find it necessary to put one another down like this. What good does a statement such as this bring? :confused3 Even if the poster is "just being honest," it is an unnecessary low blow. :sad2: I feel that statements that are made with the intention to criticize or demean in any way, compromise the integrity of these boards.
