Well for us, we are going down because DH has a conference. Since we have points to spare, the kids and I are going to hang out at WDW, rather than hang out at home. But since DH isnt available during the day, we wont be doing the parks........

Cannot_Wait_4Disney said:Yeah. Yacht/Beach club. I hear that's the best pool. I'm staying there. Bring your refillable mug and get me some refills while you're there. Oh and don't forget the stroller so we can push everyone out of the way. Come over about noon. I'll have the towels on the lounge chairs early in the morning to save em.
Your understanding regarding the DVC member pool hopping restrictions are not correct, although you are correct about the AKL pool itself (it and SAB are never open to pool hopping for DVC members). DVC member can pool hop to all on-site pools except SAB and the pool at the AKL unless pool hopping has been restricted due to expected crowds. Holiday periods (Easter break, Christmas week, and most major holidays) are almost always restricted, as is the case this weekend for Independence Day. DVC members are advised to call the resort first to be sure hopping has not been restricted on a particular day.MinnieSummer said:Just a warning, fromwhat I've heard Disney is checking for resort ID's at all of the pools now due to the increased crowds during the summer. My understanding of the DVC members priveleges is that they can only pool hop to other DVC pools. Is this correct? I'd hate to see a DVC member get kicked out of the pool at AKL because they had the wrong information.

safetymom said:Yes it is clearly marked that the pools are for the use of resort guests only.
skiwee1 said:This poster has said in another thread that they are DVC members. Why does every jump to conclusions without even investigating? A siimply click to find other posts of the OP would have answered any questions before having to give snide remarks.
MemoryMakers2669 said:This doesn't sound "clearly" to me at all. I can see people seeing this and thinking they are a WDW resort guest, so they would be fine to be there. Does is say the resort name exactly?
OH, and BTW....if anyone from the thread I was on before I left is reading this, you might remember I asked about the 9 and 11 year olds going to the pool alone and what was the age they were technically allowed to. It is 12. A 12 year old can in fact be alone at the pool.
I'd say any pool would be divine, as long as you bring your refillable mug along, and fill it at the resort you're visiting...bballdiva said:Who knew pools would be so controversal
