We will be in Disney July 4-9 and will be mostly pool hopping. Any suggestions as to the best pool to visit?

Are you a DVC member? Because they are the only ones allowed to "pool hop", and they can't even go to the YC/BC's pool Stormalong Bay (which is considered the "best pool").

Pool hopping is not allowed, you have to be a guest at the resort to swim.

(singing) I'm a pool hopper, I'm a pool hopper...(wheel watcher tune) I hopped from POR to POFQ and back. That's legal pool hopping though. They are sister resorts so it's fine to use both pools. I wouldn't risk the embarrassment of possibly getting kicked out of pools we aren't supposed to use, but that's just me.

:rotfl2: Is this a "for real question"?... pool hopping posts are always the "hottest" threads going, and i usually read them with interst.....
If you are really asking this question, wherever you are staying is the pool you will be hopping to :sad2: , unless you are a DVC member.. :Pinkbounc ..

I am not one to get uptight about things :teeth: , but I will say that the pools in the summer time have a great deal to do with where we stay on WDW property.... I save my money for a long time to stay at one of the resorts with a great pool :flower: , and I trust all those at the pool with me have done the same! :cool1:
Swim where you stay. Pool hopping is not allowed unless you are a DVC member, and then that may be limited.

This poster has said in another thread that they are DVC members. Why does every jump to conclusions without even investigating? A siimply click to find other posts of the OP would have answered any questions before having to give snide remarks.

How hard would it be for the OP to rephrase their post to add "we're DVC members?" There's no reason other people should have to do an investigation to post. And speaking of snide remarks...

If you are DVC members and are allowed pool-hopping privileges, then I think the best pool IMO are BWI & WL aside from SAB of course.

I like BWI for the Keister Coaster, WL for the look and feel of it.

Please watch the comments being made. Lets try to keep the thread going instead of having to close it. Thank you for your cooperation.

Why should she have to explain anything? She looks to be new here with only 9 posts and perhaps doesn't know how anal some people are. My remark was honest, not snide.

Just a warning, fromwhat I've heard Disney is checking for resort ID's at all of the pools now due to the increased crowds during the summer. My understanding of the DVC members priveleges is that they can only pool hop to other DVC pools. Is this correct? I'd hate to see a DVC member get kicked out of the pool at AKL because they had the wrong information.

Even if its allowed, being a DVC member, i still dont get why you would travel to WDW to mostly pool hop. :bored:

Things to do:

Visit the 4 main parks
Visit the waterparks
Visit downtown disney
Eat at great restaurants
Take a stroll at the boardwalk
Rent a watermice
Take one or more tours in the parks
Relax and use the resort your staying at.

Leggz, we are planning a pool trip at the end of July. I have a poll in here somewhere about pools, the last time i looked the Poly and CSR had the most votes of the choices I included. However, I did not include BCV, BWV, WL or SSR because we are alreayd either going to those or have stayed at those.Leggz when you get home please be sure and post your pool reviews for me! Thanks!

Another important thing to note, is that pool hopping for DVC members is restricted during the busiest times. I expect that around July 4th would be one of those times. Perhaps this post would be more appropriate on one of the DVC boards.

For the OP, it would be best to check with the destination pool before heading over there. If they are allowing us DVCers to hop there that day, then they will be able to tell you. And if not, you can make other plans.

As for my fav' pools on property, one would be Luna Park at BWV, since that's where we usually stay. I also love the pool at WL. But for the money (since it costs to get in) my favorite pool on site would be over at Typhoon Lagoon, the pool at the end of Crushin' Gusher. The wave pool is fun too, but a bit crowded.

I have to ask why anyone would want to pool hop? Wouldn't it be a pain? I can understand staying at more than one resort per trip, to experience more...but to just want to try different pools seems just a little bit..time consuming. Please no flames, but even if you could..why would you want to?

I agree completely, we are DVC members and never use the perk, just too much hassle. We use our own pool and if a pool appeals to us we book a weekend there to use it.
