A year or two ago we heard on RADP that DVC members had pool hopping priviledges. Is that true? We have not yet been home. I would suppose that is is no longer possible, if it ever was. But just what are the rules on that? Thanks.

I have been reading about pool hopping and was curious as to how it works. Are you only allowed to hop at resorts that have vacation club accomadations or can you hope at all resorts aside from SAB? Do you think that pool hopping would be an option in August? We were also wondering which pool you found the best to hop at? We will have to children with us under the age of 4. I think that TL will be to difficult this time around. So I was thinking that pool hopping might be a better option. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tracy

DVC members, staying on points, have pool hopping privileges at all WDW resort pools except AKL and SAB at the BC. There are also certain times (Christmas week, Easter weeks, Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July week, Labor Day and Thanksgiving) when pool hopping is suspended and any time when a resort pool is deemed to be at capacity with it's own guests.

The Member's Only website has full details of the pool hopping program.

Enjoy!

Our last 2 trips we have pool hopped to the Poly. My boys love the new pool slide! I love the Kona Cafe so we make an afternoon of swimming in the volcano pool, then changing and having dinner at the kona Cafe. After dinner we walk down onto the beach and watch MK's fireworks.

We generally try to call the resort first to make sure the pool isn't at capacity. We did this about 2 weeks ago and no one had a clue what I was talking about so we drove on anyway. When we got to the pool I spoke to a lifeguard who had no idea what I was talking about either but took my word that DVC members are allowed to pool hop. After about an hour I noticed a gentlemen tidying up around the pool and I noticed his nametag had rec manager on it. I struck up a conversation with him about pool hopping. It turned out the lifeguard I spoke to was brand new, he told me if at any time we are visiting the Poly to swim and have any trouble just ask for him. He was a great guy, we spent a good hour chatting about VB.

We have pool hopped several times and never had any trouble. This past trip we spent a weekend at BCV's just to use Stormalong Bay.

As WebmasterDoc mentioned, DVC members staying on pts can pool hop to all WDW resorts with the exception of SAB and AKL. Pool hopping is usually aloud in Aug. unless the pool you want to hop to is at capacity. As far as which pools to hop to with small children go -- my ds is 2 1/2 and we really enjoy both the pool at the Poly and at the GF. Both have zero entry pools with waterslides and they also have a jumping fountain for the kids (like the one between future world and world showcase at Epcot) and my son absolutely loves the jumping fountain. Have fun deciding!!:)
