I have several questions about pool hopping....

1. Where can you find the black out dates? The info on the website seems to be very outdated (08 I think)

2. I know Stormalong Bay is excluded, is anywhere else? Can you use the pool at Kadani?

3. Are there any pools in particular you would suggest? I will just be me and DS who is 8.

Even though we are not really waterpark people I was thinking of adding on that option since it's going to be soo hot :scared1: however we would pretty much just be in the lazy river at both parks. So I thought about pool hopping instead. Any other suggestions? Is this a good idea? Bad? We are staying at OKW.

From page 16 Summer 2009 DisneyFiles Magazine block-out dates remaining in 2009 as of now are
Sept 4-7; Nov 23-29; Dec 13-31 AND Jan 1-3 2010

No you cannot use Kidani pool unless you are staying at Kidani or ETA Jambo. No pool hopping is allowed at all pools at Yacht/Beach Resorts & Stormalong Bay and all pools at AKL and AKV and BLT pool at new DVC BLT.

Boardwalk is fun, fast slide and POFQ maybe good to check out too -- nicely themed and slide is fun but not too crazy fast.

If you stay at BCV Stormalong Bay has lazy river; perhaps split your reservation between OKW and BCV if there is availability at BCV. Single day waterpark pass for Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach can be purchased with DVC discount. Check UnderCover Tourist site too - - they often have discounted passes where you buy x amount of park days & get equal amount of waterpark days; UCT is legitimate seller of Disney passes.[/QUOTE]

Hope this helped some. :goodvibes

it should be listed in the portable perks booklet you get when you check in.

nope - none of the pools at YC/BC/BCV, AKL/AKV or BLT are allowed.

OKW is nice IMO. i would call and check with the poly or GF to see if their pool was busy...if nothing else, it's nice to see the castle while you swim...

and the coronado pool is also pretty amazing.

1. I am not sure about black-out days, but I would think MS would know or even when you check in they would know.
2. I do not know about KIDANi, but I would think not permitted-I do not see them opening up a pool hopping option at AKL when it has never been established there.
3. We love to pool hop at Wilderness-because there is so much to do other than the pool-we will do the hidden Mickey's search, check out the geyser, even ride the ferry to Contemporary and use pool there.
We also like Boardwalks-kids like the slide and then you can go to the Boardwalk and walk around and play carnival games, etc.
We have also tried the pools at some of the Moderate resorts-the kids like going there and going to the food courts at POR or CBR..We definitely love the pool hop option.

The water parks are fun, but if you are not into the slides and such then just do the pool hop. Bring a change of clothes though, so you can do soem of the things I mentioned above.

Is the hidden Mickey search like a list you have to look for them or they just have a lot there and you enjoy looking for them? Thanks for all your other info as well, I have wanted to try a few snacks at the different food courts I have heard about.

I was hoping that we could pool hope to Kidani. We are going during a slow time and satying at BC but wanted to check out the new water play area.

How does everyone get to the resort they are pool hopping to? If we drive, will security give us trouble when we park?

It's kind of small. I guess you will just have to pool "hope". ;)

CSR has a nice pool at the Dig Site. We also like the GF leisure pool (the themed pool gets a bit crowded). And we did like the old pool at CR (haven't seen it since they changed it recently).

We only pool hopped once and had a car and it was no problem. We had the parking pass from VWL and the driver had to show picture ID.

You may use the Kidani Pool if you stay at the Jambo House.

Can you use the pool the day of check out? We are doing split stays including AKV and BLT and I was wondering if I can use some of these no pool hopping pools on the day of checkout?

Great info BTW :) Thanks!

You can use the pool of the resort both on the checkin day and on the check out day, all day in both cases.
