When Disney does away with pool hopping will owners/guests at the WLV still be able to use the main pool at the WL, or will that be off limits and owners/guests will be limited to the quiet pool? I guess this question wll also apply to BCVs and SAB too.

I understand that many of you believe that pool hopping will never go away, but I feel differantly and I think this is a legitmate question for owners/potential owners.

As the DVC resorts sell out in the upcoming months, I believe that this issue will only get hotter and hotter. The easiest thing for Disney to do is pull the privilage all together. Such an action won't cost them one cent. Put in any other policy, and we are talking Disney Dollars for overhead and/or bodies to enforce a policy. Besides, Disney WILL have to come up with a solution soon for the BCVs and SAB. Face it, SAB can bearly handle the crowds now, and another 193 DVC Villas there, and SAB will be busting at the seams.

Let's not be nieve here. Is there some sort of Board of Governors, Trustees, etc. where representatives of Disney, DVC sales, and owner/members can sit down and work out a policy together ??

All these posts over the last week about this issue have me troubled. First, I don't want to see pool hopping pulled, Second, I am troubled by the way certain people were treated, and finally I am amazed by how many owners bought without reading their paperwork and developing a basic understanding of the seperation of rights of ownership, and privlages offered. Further, no one has even addressed the single underlying issue of why people are being turned away...SAFETY !! Instead, people have demented the threads in to threats of lawsuits, and threats of holding their ground with bouts of profanity. What would these people say if their 3 year old was accidently pushed to deep water by a moving mass of swimmers ? How about the resorts responsibility to enforce safety regulations imposed on them by insurers and municipalities. Guess who gets sued and pays for damages when someone gets injured ??? Eventualy it is us DVC owners, that's who...

Sorry for being long, just my 2 cents on this issue. I promise to be quiet about it now.

for bringing up the issue of safety. I referred to the same thing in another post.
I do not want to see the privelage pulled, but I do want to know that we are all enjoying ourselves in a safe environment. Once we start saying "who cares if the pool is full, I was already here and I shouldn't have to leave" we start taking part in the problem.
Thanks for your post.

To answer that question....I don't feel there is any need to worry (in the event that pool hopping is discontinued) that VWL guests will not be allowed to use the WL main pool, or BCV guests not being allowed at SAB. At the very least the DVC additions to these properties can be considered "sister resorts" just like YC/BC and the previous situation at PO/DL before those resorts merged. I think the total # of pools in the "sisterhood" are considered, not just the theme pools. And I bet there are people who actually prefer using the quiet pools!

Thank You Lesley, I'll go along with your answer.

UK EAGLE, first let me assure you that I am not a Disney 'plant'. I'm just a yankee up here in the great white north who loves taking my wife and 2 boys to Disney once or twice a year.

I'll go along with your interpetation of the documents, and if I understand you properly, Pool Hopping only occurs when a DVCer hops to the pool of any non-DVC resort. Otherwise, the DVCer is simply using the recreational facilities of DVC, which he/she already owns as part of DVC. Right ?

But, one of my points is how does Disney, and DVC handle the Safety, even regulatory, issues of managing the capacity of the pools ? Isn't this also the resposibility of the resort ? Shouldn't these issues also be part of any debate ? What got me to write about this was it had been so lacking in the threads I had read up to now.

I realize too, that your earlier posts on LIDISNEY threads about lawsuits was to drive your point home about ownership rights. But with ownership rights, comes ownership responsibility too. It seems to me that peoples saftey, especialy around water, should come foremost in all of our minds.

I sincerely hope that I never have to read a thread on this board about how some young child drowned by being cannonballed by some other children, and what can we all do in the future to prevent it from happening again.

By the way UK EAGLE, and everyone else, I also believe that LIDISNEY and the other poster who experienced the 'boot' from the pool areas where handled extremely poorly by Disney. But, I just wanted to express where my priorities are, being a former lifeguard during my youth.
