As vacation club members are we still allowed to "pool hop"?
Is it only to certain resorts? Only other DVC's? I have never done it before and since I'm staying a full week it might be nice to try a different pool.
We will be at VWL so any suggestions for fun pools would be appreciated also.:worship:
Thanks in advance.

You can pool hop to any pool except the feature pools at Beach Club Villas, Animal Kingdom Villas, or Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary. Pool hopping is not allowed on certain blackout dates, although I don't hae those handy.

The Poly pool seems to be popular for hopping. I'm not much of a pool person and so SAB is the only pool I'd care to hop to, but since that isn't allowed, hopping doesn't float my boat. ;)

You cannot pool hop to any of the pools at YC/BC/BCV. You cannot pool hop to any of the pools at AKL/AKV. Right now, you can still pool hop to the Contemporary. Nothing has been stated at this time about the Bay Lake Tower pool. You can use any other Disney pool (not Swan/Dolphin pools, though, since they are not Disney operated). You must be staying on points at a DVC resort or on a cash reservation through MS in order to pool hop. Also, there are black out time around holidays.

We love to pool hop to the Coronado Springs pool and the Poly pool.

We are traveling with friends in December 09. They are staying at AKV. We are waitlisted for AKV, and currently have reservations at SSR. I know we are going to be hanging out a lot and want to do the pool. Think there is any way we could get permission to pool hop to AKV?

I know it seems like I'm being picky, but Disney is usually so accomodating. If there is a way we could make that work, I definitely want to.

So if we aren't staying onsite we can't pool hop? I thought you only had to show security your DVC card, not a room key.

According to DisneyFiles, which came a few days ago, pool-hopping is not allowed May 22-25; June 28 - July 5; Sept 4-7; Nov 23-29; Dec 13 - Jan 3.

They also emphasize that you must be staying at a DVC resort to hop.

From dvcmember.com, which hasn't been updated for 2009 and does not list BLT:
You and any Guests staying with you at Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Beach Club Villas or Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are permitted to use other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the Resort hotel at which you're staying) if they are not at capacity.

If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that Resort hotel. Please check with a Host/Hostess at the Front Desk of the Resort hotel you wish to visit to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current "Key to the World" card with your Disney Vacation Club "Member" designation on it to use other Resort hotel pools. Pool hopping is not available at Uzima Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts or at the leisure pools of these two Resort hotels. There are no exceptions to this policy.

No this isn't possible; as Deb stated staying on points or member cash ressie through MS.

klburns, unfortunately it is not possible to use AKV pools at Jambo or Kidani unless you are staying at that resort; if your waitlist doesn't come through for AKV your friends may pool hop to SSR and together all of you can pool hop to OKW, BWV, VWL or any other non-DVC Disney resort on property.

:goodvibes

What a bummer. We are staying with a friend on our next visit and were hoping to use a pool or two at the resorts with our DVC card. Thanks for the clarification :).
