To the OP - Don't sweat the small stuff. There really should be a sticky at the top of the resorts boards that lists the "hot" topics or the "post at your own risk" topics. That would save a lot of people a lot of trouble.

Sometimes folks will respond to a thread or a question without taking into account the relative newness of the poster.

IMO it would be a more pleasant experience for us all if we all had a habit of checking the post count and join date info before we jumped down someones throat. We were all new here once, and it would be nice if we could pass along the kindness we were shown as newbies to other newbies.

thank you. None of those other things would have occurred to me! I don't understand the 6-10yr old in a stroller thing - is that to try to say they are under 3?? And are you not supposed to refill the refillable mugs? Or do you mean from visit to visit.... nevertheless I'm notgonnadoanyofthose things I sweaaaaar...
The stroller thing is renting or bringing your older child in a stroller because they can't keep up with walking in the parks.
The refillable mugs thing is bringing a mug from a prior visit and using it to refill( they are only good for the visit they are purchased for)

But for reference.Here are Hot button topics- Using child CS credits for an adult meal, Re-using refillable mugs, Putting your 6-10 yr old in a stroller, fudging your childs height to get on attractions, fudging your childs age to get in free,fudging your childs age to get a cheaper price at a buffet, booking more adrs then you need so you have a choice of several restaurants for the same day....I am sure there are more .

You forgot: potentially non-disabled folks in scooters, potentially obese people using scooters, giving up seats on the bus for women and those who are less able, Towel animals, tipping - esp tipping housekeeping, cooking in your hotel room, holding tables in QS places for your family if you don't yet have your food, trying to combine discounts in an unorthodox way, sharing tables with strangers that you don't like, suggesting that Disney should offer more child-free dining or a child free resort, suggesting that some people's kids have no manners at WDW, heelies, ooh - - holding a spot for an hour before the parade/show only to have someone try to squeeze into your space minutes before the parade/show starts, taking photos of characters without waiting in the long line, for that matter doing anything without actually waiting in the long line, leaving the line for any reason and then trying to rejoin your family or any other form of line-cutting, and....

unfortunately, though these boards are a wealth of knowledge, people here are very passionate and can border on fanatical on things. I have been around a long time and I have been brutally flamed for things too.I was flamed for being a BAD parent because I made my 4 yr old walk in the park without a stroller...so nobody is immune here.PArenting styles, life choices it s all up for crtique here on the internet.You need a very thick skin to be here sometimes. BUT in defense of some people, there are a few people who have been known to come on these boards, create a new profile and deliberately start stuff up.After awhile you get pretty good a spotting "trolls" here.Don't let anyone upset you...Chances are in reality they would never say half of what they do on the boards to your face.Internet anonymity makes it easy to be brutal to your fellow man...Not saying that is right at all.But it is what it is.

Oh yes, I forgot the Brazilian cheerleader tour groups - except there aren't too many folks on here defending them, so mostly it's a one sided thing.


What about Brazilians sticking their feet in water fountains, (nearly) naked kids in the water jet water fountains, disliking Dole whips or Mickey Bars (mmmm Mickey bars....), taking pictures of other folks' kids


By the way, I used to bleong to another Disney site, and I must say, the DIS is WAY nicer! The moderators here do a FINE job.

Going to REALLY DATE MYSELF now - but in 1976 - (Ok, I was a TEENAGER) - we were ENCOURAGED to pool hop. We were staying at Fort Wilderness, and the only resorts, other than in the "Lake Buena Vista" area hotels (old name for Downtown Disney - I know DATING MYSELF )
were the Contemporary and the Polynesian. I'm not even sure Fort Wilderness HAD a pool at that time, other than River Country. REALLY REALLY DATING MYSELF!!!! -

Anyhoo... one day we would take the boat to the Contemporary and swim in the big olympic size pool and one day we would take the boat and swim at the Polynesian and use the cool slide and sit on the white sand beach.

But... that was over thirty years ago... yikes ... .I'm getting OLD!!

I also forgot..1).Saving spaces in line for parades, fantasmic, Wishes,Spectro, Illuminations while the other 30 people in your party go on rides and then all 30 cut back in line at showtime.. 2)Sending someone to run and get fastpasses while everyone else boards an attraction line and then having the FP runner cut in line to the front.3) Using the handicapped bathroom stall if you are not handicapped

I really appreciate all the nice supportive comments from those who have made them. I've been avoiding responding to each one because I just want this thread to go away and that would keep bumping it to the top.

I'm definitely a "newbie", but definitely not a troll. If you look at my posts it's actually kind of funny, you'll see I was looking for the exact same rezzie for this year as for last - same exact week - tied to the northern Maine Potato Harvest school break. You really can't make this stuff up.

I think I didn't make many posts last year because I quickly signed up for tour guide mike and there is also a helpful and friendly forum there (not saying this one isn't, just feeling a lil less so after being called a potential troll and all the sarcastic popcorn smileys at my expense on this thread...).

I don't have thick skin. If there is anywhere I can buy some please let me know. :beg:

and for the record, I am the type of person that if there was a "land mine" sticky, I WOULD read it as a newbie and I would walk 100 miles around each issue. So go for it!
