Pool Hopping Blacked Out for 2008

I have to chuckle here, because from the prior discussion I'm seeing not only a "problem" of lack of policy enforcement, but apparently DVC's inability to even communicate the unenforced policy clearly and consistently!!

Disney is nothing if not inconsistent, and they are very consistent in that fact.

We hopped to CSR last September. We had seen an article in a travel magazine about how great the pool was, so we went over on our "pool day". Dh asked the manager for permission, and he said, technically no one could hop, but since the resort was empty, it was okay. That said, if we had just showed up at the pool no one would have noticed.

To the OP, I have to come back and respectfully disagree about the BC pools now. I just finished reading the new DVC magazine and they specifically state that the pool hopping is not allowed at the Uzima pool and SAB only. They do not state that the BC/YC quiet pools are off limits. I thought that was interesting, given our discussion here.

But if you read carefully, it also states to get "Complete details about this perk" at www.dvcmember.com

So that wasn't the complete pool hopping rule/info.

There are times when they only list SAB and other times when they spell it out further. Here is the current quote from the website.

ok thanks Dean for that clarification. Geez, why can't they just state the whole darn thing in one easy sentence in the magazine, thats a little weird. I guess we're being a bit picky here, but still.

I think it's for a couple of reasons. First, few people would want to PH to the quiet pools there and second, I think they feel they've said it enough that members would know. Actually it took a year or so after implementing the SAB restriction for them to actually put it in print if I recall correctly. They've actually gotten much better in that area. It does point out a very important rule of timesharing IMO, actually of life, that is that there are a set of written rules then there are a set of unwritten rules and various interpretations of written rules. One has to learn both to be successful with pretty much anything.
