Has anyone had any experience with just visiting the DVC resorts at Vero Beach or Hilton Head and trying to use their pool facilities for the day? We are planning to tour around Georgia and the coast line before our next trip to WDW in August. We will be driving by Hilton Head and would like to visit, but not stay, at the resort. Same for Vero. Any suggestions? Do we need to check with the front desk? Will they give us a day pass, etc?

While VB and HH welcome visits to the resort, unless you have a valid KTTW card I don't think they encourage pool hopping at either resort. I know several have been allowed to swim at VB when visiting for a day from their WDW resort and VB guests have been allowed to pool hop at WDW resorts using their Vero KTTW card.

At HH I don't believe they usually provide a day pass where visitors could see the Beach House (it requires a KTTW card for access and a valid parking pass to get thru the security gate).

If there is a clean and unoccupied villa available, they will usually be happy to provide a tour and they might allow a swim at the resort pool. It can't hurt to ask.

Last time we were at HH they were checking room keys at the pool. I told the lifeguard thank you.

And no matter what you do, don't try to visit on a Tuesday afternoon in the summer. Cast members are stationed at the gate turning around those without reservations whether they are on foot or in car.

The HHI weekly fireworks are shot off from a barge in the marshy sound next to Longview Island where the DVC resort is located.

If you want to use the pool at HHI, you'l need a reservation there. DVC doesn't allow members day use at the resorts. You must be a guest there on a DVC reservation to get the DVC member perks like pool hopping.
