Pool hop question

We do have to be staying at a DVC resort to take advantage of pool hopping right? We are going for a four day weekend over Labor Day but will be staying at another resort...didn't figure we could pool hop under those circumstances, right?

The way I understand it, yes, you have to be staying on points at a DVC property.

If your room ID states "DVC Member" (or "Member") , you can pool hop. Your DVC membership card isn't accepted for pool hopping (that will work for valet parking at DVC Resorts though).

Even using DVC points at non-DVC resorts doesn't allow for pool hopping (unless they somehow put "DVC Member" on the card).
